Full Job Description
Overview

The Director, Regional Site Merchandising leads Microsoft's in-region site merchandising teams of full-time employees based across North America, EMEA, and Asia who drive merchandising execution in local markets, complementing the central global team. The role spans Microsoft products such as Surface, Xbox hardware, and M365. The role owns an online shopping and buying experience that delights customers and drives conversion, sets ambitious goals, and puts the people, process, and strategy in place to reach them.

AI is rapidly reshaping how customers shop. This leader will ensure our experience is both powered by AI to ease customer decision-making and positioned to be the authoritative source for AI-enabled shopping and will lead the team's shift from tactical execution to strategic, AI-orchestrated merchandising. The role works closely across regional sales, go-to-market, creative and UX, integrated marketing, category management, production, and engineering to turn strategy into measurable customer and commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-regional merchandising strategy. Define the site merchandising strategy, goals, and priorities, grounded in customer insight, revenue opportunity, and best-in-class ecommerce discipline, aligning launches, promotions, and lifecycle motions into a clear plan.
  • Drive customer and commercial outcomes. Aggressively improve the core web funnel metrics: conversion, average order value, attach, traffic quality, customer satisfaction, revenue, units, and contribution margin, through disciplined execution, sound business decision making, and continuous optimization.
  • Lead the end-to-end customer experience. Own the online shopping and buying experience worldwide, globally aligned yet locally relevant, across site merchandising, storytelling, offers, value propositions, navigation, comparison, and buying pages, informed by regular customer journey audits and data-informed customer trends and insights.
  • Scale experimentation, personalization, and AI-enabled optimization.
  • Build a culture of testing and data-driven merchandising, and advance personalization and AI/automation that improve quality, speed, insight, and customer outcomes that scale across regions and product moments.
  • Lead the team's transformation into the agentic era. Shape a future-ready strategy and upskilling plan that shifts the team from tactical execution to strategic orchestration of AI, and position Microsoft's experience so AI agents reliably discover and recommend it. Increase efficiency and improve quality through automation, freeing the team's capacity for higher-value strategic work.
  • Lead people and vendor performance. Build, coach, and develop a high-performing organization of full-time employees who lead contractors and outsourced partners across regions; create clarity, accountability, and measurable outcomes; and own vendor governance, quality standards, and continuous improvement.
  • Influence globally and tell the performance story. Represent regional needs in global platform, capability, and roadmap decisions; partner across functions; and deliver executive-ready narratives that connect merchandising actions to customer outcomes, commercial impact, and next-best actions.
  • Shape the Culture. Build a team culture that leverages Microsoft leadership principles of Model Coach Care that enables trust, calculated risk-taking, and shared responsibility so that we can propel the customer experience forward and create a work environment in which every employee thrives.
  • Embody our Culture and Values
