Full Job Description
A career as a Director, Regional Business Development, Insurance within the National Bank Insurance team means acting as a strategic leader responsible for insurance business development across a designated territory. In this role, you will have a direct impact on the organization's growth by leveraging your expertise in business development, strategic planning, market analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

You will be responsible for accelerating the growth of insurance activities by integrating insurance solutions into the priorities of the Bank's various business lines. You will help align national strategies with local market realities to optimize market coverage, support insurance specialists in growing their business, and deliver a consistent experience for partners and clients.

Your Role
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with partners across the Bank's various business lines to understand their business priorities, client base, and insurance growth potential.
  • Influence market development strategies in collaboration with banking partners, insurance specialists, and specialized teams to align insurance solutions with client needs and regional growth objectives.
  • Assess market coverage, specialist alignment, network capacity, and growth opportunities to ensure optimal territorial coverage and identify future succession, recruitment, and development needs.
  • Analyze regional performance using key indicators such as sales results, referrals, conversion rates, response times, available capacity, and commissions, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Mobilize operations teams, insurance specialists, distribution partners, and specialized resources to ensure consistent execution of strategies, an optimal partner experience, and effective management of referred clients.
  • Implement national priorities and strategic initiatives, drive the adoption of common practices, processes, and tools, and monitor execution quality, business results, and emerging challenges across the region.

National Bank Insurance distributes insurance solutions across Canada through National Bank Insurance Firm, National Bank Insurance Solutions, its distribution partners, and its network of insurance specialists.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and ten years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Significant experience in business development, insurance product distribution, or financial services.
  • Experience managing, optimizing, or developing a territory, partner network, or distribution network.
  • Strong ability to analyze business performance and leverage data to support decision-making and achieve business objectives.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment related to the insurance industry, including compliance, suitability, and privacy requirements.
  • Experience working in a complex environment requiring collaboration with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
