Full Job Description
What you’ll be doing You are part of a team responsible to develop multi-year real estate plans for CIBC’s corporate offices. As a Director, Real Estate Management you will play a central role in shaping our real estate footprint. Your focus is on larger urban markets where you lead the development of multi-year investment roadmaps for our corporate office portfolio. Leveraging your analytical skills, you determine where to expand, consolidate, or divest real estate based on an informed view of CIBC's workforce and operating model requirements, business goals and financial objectives. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. How you’ll succeed - Develop & deliver strategic plans – You develop multi-year real estate investment roadmaps to ensure our corporate offices are optimized . You collaborate with multiple teams to understand the value of our current footprint and assess opportunities to change.  You build forecasts of business requirements and 10-year financial plans that consider investments and ongoing needs.  - Analysis & Financial Acumen – You analyze information from multiple sources to assess our current environment and opportunities. Your responsibilities include scenario planning, space utilization forecasting, workspace planning, and geographic portfolio analysis. You have experience completing financial analysis and are aware of the key financial considerations of major investment decisions.   - Communication – You have excellent communication skills and are able to deliver clear and concise messages that are tailored to meet audience needs.  You develop recommendations, prepare formal presentations, and communicate financial information in an impactful way.  You gain and maintain support for investment plans; you develop recommendations and participate in executive-level discussions. - Research & Due Diligence – By partnering with internal and external teams, you develop robust real estate market intelligence.  You maintain awareness of workforce and operating model trends, changes in workplaces & amenities, and real estate costs, and opportunities. Who you are - You have experience in developing investment plans for corporate offices or have extensive experience in a corporate real estate.  You have proven analytical skills sufficient to interpret complex issues and develop innovative solutions to address the challenge of modernizing workplaces to support changing workstyles.  You understand the importance of the workplace in supporting the culture, strategy, and purpose of the business.  You have multiple years of work experience, preferably in a real estate function in a large organization and have a degree in Business, Finance or related field.  It is an asset if you have an MBA or other advanced degree. - You act like an owner.
