Position Summary

The RCO Regional Operations Strategy Lead, Americas works closely with the Head of RCO Business Management to enable the pull through of operational strategy. The RCO Regional Operations Strategy Lead plays a key role supporting the RCO Regional Head of South America and the RCO Regional Head of North America in ensuring workforce planning, monitoring of key performance indicators for region and communications.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities involve a combination of strategy, execution, and oversight to ensure deliverables and include:
  • Project Lead RCO transformational activities and execution of operational activities, in partnership with relevant functions.
  • Responsible for partnering with the RCO Regional Heads and Regional Delivery Lead Head to create and integrate executional plan for the strategic portfolio.
  • Provide operational support and coordination for the RCO Regional Leadership Team meetings, including agenda setting, priorities and objectives.
  • Help drive RCO operating model, including Business Development integration efforts resulting from M&A activities at the country level.
  • Track progress against plans through leadership dialogue, highlight risks and facilitate dialogue to remediation strategies.
  • Partner with HR, GDD Operations, project management, Finance, and other enabling roles to support RCO priorities.
  • Develop annual budget for the RCO organization and monitor progress throughout the year.


Project Management /Change Management & Communications
  • Proactively identifies potential risks, develops/implements actions, and makes the appropriate trade-offs of balancing risks deliverables and costs.
  • Identifies, participates and/or leads initiatives with cross-functional/global teams
  • Creates, maintains, and implements project management tools at the study level (e.g., actions, decisions, issues log and risk management plan).
  • Ensures interdependencies are identified across the RCO portfolio.
  • Identifies and plans for appropriate workforce changes and communications.


Stakeholder Management
  • Proactively develops/maintains collaborative relationships with internal partners/stakeholders across the multidisciplinary teams.
  • Collaborates across the R&D function, Medical and additional BMS stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience
Degree Requirements
  • BA/BS in Science or Business Management equivalent degree (advanced degree, preferred)


Experience Requirements
  • 10 + years of experience in the pharma industry with core understanding of clinical operations and associated business parameters.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical consulting or clinical research organization a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker and possesses high business acumen and can translate strategy into executional plans.
  • Experience managing capabilities in a matrixed environment.
  • Excellent project management, leadership and execution skills and can manage multiple projects & deadlines.
  • High level of autonomy
  • Enterprise mindset with proven track record in influencing with authority.


Technical Competencies
  • Extensive experience translating strategy to actionable projects and initiatives.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and influence skills, including ability to articulate messages to a variety of audiences (inclusive of senior leader audience)

Compensation Overview:

Madison - Giralda - NJ - US: $224,610 - $272,178Princeton - NJ - US: $224,610 - $272,178

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
