What is the opportunity?

Lead a mission-critical program portfolio governing settlement, clearing, and middle office operations for RBC Capital Markets. You'll drive strategic technology transformation across collateral management, regulatory reporting, and clearing infrastructure-systems powering billions in daily transactions. This high-visibility role offers exceptional influence across the COO organization, technology leadership, and the bank's most complex operational systems. Principal responsibilities
  • Portfolio governance & strategy: Establish governance frameworks across 60+ programs in settlement, clearing, and collateral management. Define standards, gates, and escalation paths ensuring consistent delivery and alignment with enterprise roadmaps.
  • Performance measurement: Own program metrics, KPIs, and dashboards. Measure delivery velocity, budget adherence, and business value realization. Present portfolio health and ROI to senior leadership and the COO office.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Lead engagement with operations, technology, Risk, Compliance, and business stakeholders. Drive oversight of major initiatives including regulatory reporting modernization, collateral platform enhancements, and clearing infrastructure optimization.
  • Team leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing team of program managers and delivery leads. Foster accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
  • Technology risk & compliance: Ensure portfolio alignment with regulatory requirements, cyber standards, and RBC risk frameworks. Coordinate with Risk and Compliance teams; maintain risk registers and drive mitigation.
  • Enterprise alignment: Align S&C technology roadmaps with T&O strategic priorities, including Helios adoption and cloud migration. Represent CBOS S&C in cross-functional forums.
  • Thought leadership: Refine delivery best practices and provide strategic guidance on portfolio prioritization, resource allocation, and capability building.


What do you need to succeed?

Must have:
  • 10+ years in program or portfolio management in complex, regulated financial services; 5+ years in leadership overseeing concurrent transformational, regulatory and modernization initiatives.
  • Financial industry experience must, Capital Markets experience; expertise in settlement, clearing, or middle office operations preferred.
  • Proven ability to establish governance frameworks, measure performance, and present insights to executive leadership.
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills; experience building alignment across operations, technology, risk, and executive teams.
  • Strategic mindset combined with operational rigor; ability to think systemically while executing with discipline and accountability.


Nice to have:
  • Experience enablement, or AI/ML rollouts.
  • Familiarity with settlement/clearing platforms (BPS/ADP, Impact, Summit, Murex, etc.).
  • Exposure to Agile at scale (SAFe, LeSS) and distributed global team management.
