Position OverviewThe Director, Program Management is a mid-level leader responsible for critical management and leadership of approximately 10 individuals who are directly responsible for the day-to-day operations of Jumpstart programming in all of our markets including Atlanta, Boston, New York City, Los Angeles, and the Bay area. This role ensures that programmatic goals, including program quality and child outcome expectations, in Jumpstart's markets are achieved, and will lead efforts in managing, hiring, coaching, and supporting program staff. The Director, Program Management will work closely with the Program and Impact Team, regional teams, and report directly to the Managing Director, Program Management, to ensure alignment and consistency across programming.
This role is ideal for an experienced manager with strong programmatic experience and an operational lens, along with the ability to direct regional integration, marketing and communications needs, and organize a view into the programmatic experience in collaboration with our development team. This position requires demonstrated experience in successfully managing individuals and programs and a demonstrated ability to connect organization-wide goals to day-to-day tasks for themselves and their teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Operations & Execution- Conduct regular check-ins with all direct reports; monitor programs' progress to goals; and provide management, training, and technical assistance according to staff and site needs in order for Managers, of Program Implementation to meet Jumpstarter recruitment, retention, children served, and program quality goals
- Implement quality assurance processes to increase the effectiveness of Jumpstart programming
- Monitor key performance indicators and implement continuous improvement processes to strengthen program outcomes and ensure Jumpstart's standards are met
- Design and conduct in-person coaching visits for direct reports to support staff development and high quality program implementation
- Oversee program staff hiring, assessment, training, and ongoing development
- Create systems and structures that improve program effectiveness while remaining flexible to environmental, organizational and system changes
Strategic Planning & Implementation- Provide strong leadership to 10 or more full time employees with the use of Jumpstart's performance management cycle, which includes giving frequent and effective feedback
- Create an environment that supports teamwork to achieve organizational goals
- Ensure all staff are up to date on commitments to stakeholders and ensure ongoing and open communication with Jumpstart's central teams
- Coach staff on the maintaining of strategic partnerships
- Identify opportunities for increasing reach or deepening impact for young children
- Ensure alignment with Curriculum, Training & Support, and Impact & Evaluation teams to ensure program consistency across regions
Team & Stakeholder Management- Serve as a program representative to increase communication and collaboration across Jumpstart departments
- Work closely with the Data and Digital Enablement team to uphold and improve volunteer management systems
- Partner with the Program Leadership team and regional directors to monitor data points, including compliance, and manage action plans, as needed
QualificationsRequired:- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience
- At least 3 years of professional experience in program management
- At least 3-4 years professional experience with staff management and an understanding of effective performance management
- Experience managing teams and collaborating across departments
- Demonstrated understanding of the education landscape, including ECE
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and proven flexibility/adaptability
- Ability to identify opportunities and take initiative to develop and advance work plans
- Solid public speaking, presentation, meeting facilitation, and written communication skills
- Competency in Microsoft software, especially Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability and willingness to travel to various locations as necessary for completion of job duties
- Experience and comfort working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and communities
Preferred:- Masters in ECE or Non-Profit Management
- Prior experience managing large teams
- Prior experience/interest in social justice, or diversity, equity, and inclusion work

Salary & BenefitsSalary Range: $93,500-$126,500 commensurate with experience. Jumpstart also offers excellent benefits and a mission-driven work environment.

Starting pay for new hires is typically set between the band minimum and midpoint, based on experience, qualifications, internal equity, and the approved budget for the role. Compensation is reviewed annually through our proficiency review process, which provides an opportunity for pay adjustments based on demonstrated growth and proficiency in the role.
