Full Job Description
About the Role

The Veeam team is looking for a high-agency Director of Product Management to help shape the future of data resilience for modern data services and the analytical data layer - the databases, lakehouses, and analytical platforms enterprises run their business on (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure Cosmos DB, Databricks). This is a senior individual contributor role reporting to the Vice President of Product - and your impact comes from what you build, ship, and influence, not from the size of an org chart. You'll thrive here if you love building, form your convictions through rigorous, data-centric analysis, are energized by charting a course through uncharted territory, and can bring others along once you've convinced yourself.
What You'll Do
  • Partner shoulder-to-shoulder with engineering. Work closely with a world-class, globally distributed development team and the broader data community to break complex problems into simple, shippable steps and drive sprint planning
  • Own the "why." Articulate why we are building what we're building, grounded in rigorous, data-centric analysis, and bring engineers, customers, and leadership along once the merits are clear
  • Evangelize and gather feedback. When it's time to showcase, build compelling demos and proofs of concept and evangelize new products with customers, partners, and at analyst and community events - then close the loop and iterate
  • Engage customers and the field. Work directly with customers and sales teams to understand real-world usage, identify growth opportunities, and continuously sharpen the roadmap
  • Launch and scale. See the forest and the trees - size the market and opportunity, decide what to build and why, then dive in to define, prioritize, and execute end-to-end product development, taking new initiatives in modern data services from initial launch through to scale and iterating with customers as they grow
  • Measure what matters. Define and track success metrics for your product areas, and use them to inform what we build next
  • Strengthen the ecosystem. Enable tighter integration with alliance and ecosystem partners to deliver value to customers faster
What You'll Bring
  • Deep modern data services and analytical-layer expertise. Hands-on knowledge of modern databases and the analytical data layer (e.g., Amazon RDS and Aurora, Azure Cosmos DB, Databricks, and Snowflake) and the lakehouse architecture and catalog/governance models (such as Unity Catalog) that underpin them - comfortable setting up and operating your own data environments in the cloud
  • A genuine love for building and technology. A tinkerer at heart who tests, breaks, and learns, and who is hands-on enough to build and showcase demos that highlight product capabilities
  • Relevant background. Prior product management experience taking initiatives from initial launch through to scale in data infrastructure, databases, analytics, or data platforms; technical roles such as field/partner solutions architecture, data engineering, or technical marketing engineering are a strong plus
  • First-principles problem solving. Ability to break complex problems into simple steps and a data-centric mindset that forms convictions through rigorous analysis
  • Influence without authority. Strong communication skills to engage engineers, enterprise customers, and senior leadership - and to persuade once you've convinced yourself of the merits
  • High agency in fast-moving environments. A self-starter who navigates uncharted waters, manages multiple initiatives at once, and thrives in an agile, non-hierarchical setting rather than a waterfall one
  • A team-first approach. A can-do collaborator who wins as a team, builds alignment across the organization, and executes
  • A track record of shipping. Proven experience bringing new products and capabilities successfully to market
  • Willingness to travel. Open to travel for customer meetings, partner activities, and conferences
Bonus Skills
  • Experience in the data protection industry, including exposure to storage and database ecosystems, particularly those related to protection APIs
  • Familiarity with open table formats and the modern open data stack - Apache Parquet, Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, Unity Catalog, and data-sharing standards such as Delta Sharing - and the change-data-capture and point-in-time-recovery patterns that build on them
  • Active participation or contributions in the open-source data community (e.g., Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, Apache Spark)

What you'll get
  • Unlimited paid time off, 12 paid holidays including 4 global VeeaMe Days for self-care and 24 paid volunteer hours annually through Veeam Cares
  • Paid parental leave: 8 weeks for all parents, 16 weeks for birthing parents
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage starting on your first day
  • Mental health support, therapy sessions, and digital wellness tools via our Employee Assistance Program
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions
  • Fertility, adoption, and surrogacy support through Maven, plus paid volunteer time
  • AirVet: 24/7 virtual veterinary care at no cost
  • Legal services, identity protection, and supplemental health insurance options
  • Tax-advantaged spending accounts for healthcare, dependent care, and commuting
  • Opportunities to learn and grow through on-demand libraries (LinkedIn Learning, O'Reilly), mentoring, workshops, and learning events like our annual Global Day of Learning
