Job Summary

Responsible for driving business growth and performance at product portfolio level by using all key levers of commercial, product, engineering and operational excellence. Key performance indicators are revenue growth, 12 & 24 months revenue from new products, Gross Margin, ROI /contribution margin for total business and categories. Additional focus on optimizing inventory productivity supporting base business and new products through the product life-cycle. Leading 2 to 5 cross-functional product teams consisting of all functions necessary to identify/prioritize opportunities, develop strategies to increase share of market and execution of those strategies while leading the ongoing management the assigned business.

Primary Duties

  • Responsible for co-developing and co leading/influencing customer and pricing, sourcing and service strategies in coordination with respective teams and functional leaders.
  • Lead, drive the process and the team for defining Category Strategy
  • Lead the team to define the category(s) strategy and value proposition
  • Lead the regular category SWOT update
  • Lead/drive market analysis including analysis of competitive landscape, market segmentation and changes in customer / consumer behavior
  • Provide support and leadership to the product teams in performing product trend and product gap analysis. Analyze new product opportunities and market conditions through trade shows, customer visits, and field research.
  • Manage product portfolio in terms of profitability, market share, growth rate, market segmentation, and different life cycle phases. Complete perpetual gap analyses.
  • Lead execution of the Category Strategy and associated workflow
  • Lead and coordinate Product Team to achieve all the financial deliverables for the category including revenue growth, gross margin, inventory, pricing, and service level.
  • Lead and coordinate a cross functional teams composed of Product Team lead, Engineering and Supply Chain to drive new product launch process. Engineering and Supply chain report straight line to functional leader and dotted line to Product Management organization
  • Manage a team of 3 to 10 direct reports Train, learn, get involved across different projects and grow


Qualifications

  • Proven track record of leadership, business acumen, adaptability and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Sales with management of P&L, balance sheet, with good understanding of product development process and operations management
  • Product portfolio management for large portfolio (above $50M)
  • Proven track record of leadership, business acumen, adaptability, and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Experience in product portfolio management for a large portfolio (above $50M)
  • Strategic sourcing with a focus on merchandising (buy for resale) and new product development (for spend above $100M)
  • Prior experience with automobile, aerospace, road construction equipment, and agriculture equipment in a role described above is a plus
  • Experience within a manufacturing or sourcing/distribution environment is preferred
  • Experience with one or more functional area besides product management, such as engineering, sales, or strategic sourcing is a plus
  • Must possess the skills to communicate at all levels of the organization and move projects through the organization with minimal direction
  • Multi lingual, multi-cultural is a plus
  • Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen. Noise level is usually moderate.


Education / Experience

  • Master's degree in business, finance, marketing preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience with growing responsibilities in multiple industries/companies
