Full Job Description
Your New Role... CNN is looking for a Director of Product Management, AI Platforms, to lead a team of product managers and own a portfolio of high-impact AI platform investments. You will partner closely with senior leadership, including the SVP of Product, Platforms, and serve as the product partner to editorial AI leadership, consumer AI experiences leadership, and AI enablement organizations across Warner Bros. Discovery. You will help to define the vision, strategy, and operating model for AI Product platforms at CNN, ensuring teams are aligned, execution is coordinated, and delivery drives measurable business and editorial outcomes. This role requires a leader who can operate across highly complex and ambiguous environments, lead through others, and build the organizational capability to scale AI responsibly while maintaining CNN's standards for accuracy, trust, and quality. The ideal candidate is fluent in AI and machine learning product, is a role model for strategic thinking and product excellence, leads through influence across teams and business units, and is passionate about building the foundations that let editorial move fast without sacrificing accuracy, provenance, or brand trust. Your Role Accountabilities... CNN AI Platforms Product Strategy & Roadmap 3 Own and evolve the AI editorial product vision and roadmap, translating editorial ambition into a sequenced, prioritized plan with clear outcomes rather than a task list3 3 Define the use-case portfolio across the format taxonomy, from simple transformations to multimodal and assembled experiences, and , and determine sequencing and prioritization3 3 Tie every investment to a clear business outcome, and bring rigor to the portfolio, adjusting priorities based on performance and opportunity3 Editorial, Consumer, and Platform Partnership 3 Serve as the connective tissue between editorial, consumer, and platforms teams working on AI initiatives.3 3 Build strong relationships across editorial, standards, platform, and engineering, aligning partners who do not report to you3 Evaluation, Quality & Governance 3 Own the governance horizontal for AI editorial product, including accuracy thresholds, disclosure, attribution, rights, provenance, and permissioning3 3 Partner with AI enablement organizations across CNN and Warner Bros. Discovery at large, to align on shared platforms, standards, and governance3 Discovery & Prioritization 3 Lead with user-need discovery and validation, earning the newsroom's trust without disrupting live workflows3 3 Identify and improve the processes that help multiple teams work better, and expand from org-wide influence to cross-org strategic leadership3 3 Act as a trusted partner in helping teams leverage AI capabilities to move faster and deliver higher-impact, higher-trust outcomes3 Qualifications & Experience... 3 10+ years in product management with a proven track record of delivering3 3 innovative consumer-facing products.3 3 3+ years working with AI/ML technologies, including experience with large language models, recommendation systems, or generative interfaces.3 3 Proven ability to lead multiple product areas and teams, delivering measurable business outcomes in complex environments3 3 Direct experience with AI and machine learning products, including LLMs, retrieval and RAG, evaluation and quality measurement, and model and platform tradeoffs, with the ability to hold a credible technical conversation with platform and ML engineers3 3 Demonstrated ability to lead through influence in a highly cross-functional environment.3 3 Exceptional communication skills, especially in translating technical complexity into stakeholder-aligned narratives.3 3 Deep empathy for news consumers and a sharp editorial sense; passion for making news more accessible, relevant, and impactful.3 3 Experience working in a mission-driven or regulated environment (media, health, education, etc.) is a strong plus.3 3 Familiarity with editorial standards and AI governance is a plus3 3 Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience3 How We Get Things Done... Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $175,000.00 - $325,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
