Technology provides the foundation for everything we do in the company while driving differentiation through building and leveraging innovative technology and data insights.

The U.S. Consumer Services and Membership Digital Experiences Technology team (USCDT) brings together foundational strategic technology capabilities in digital experience engineering (Mobile and Web), marketing and advertising technology, enterprise communications, travel and lifestyle, and dining technology. It employs a ground-breaking focus with development responsibilities for customer-facing capabilities that deepen and expand digital engagement, as well as core technical capabilities that cut across business lines and customer
segments.

Within US Consumer & Digital Technology, the Cross Platform Delivery organization enables the successful delivery of approximately 45 enterprise-wide initiatives spanning technology, product, and business organizations. Our mission is to orchestrate complex delivery across platforms, improve release confidence, accelerate decision making, and provide executive visibility into enterprise execution.

As part of our future-state operating model, we are establishing a new Delivery Intelligence & Automation Office to transform how delivery is managed across the enterprise. This organization will leverage AI, automation, predictive analytics, and delivery intelligence to reduce operational overhead, improve organizational efficiency, and enable our delivery leaders to focus on strategic execution.

This Technology delivery leadership position is responsible for critical initiative planning and execution in support of US Consumer Services and Digital Technology business strategies within a large-scale Agile environment.

In this role, you will execute highly complex and company-wide, end to end (E2E) technology delivery for American Express. These initiatives are often comprised of multiple products, and you will plan, direct, and deliver these strategic programs from initiation through implementation. You will partner with multi-functional product teams, business owners, engineering teams and external organizations to interpret objectives into features and solutions, drive delivery processes and execution, remove impediments, manage risk, and promote continuous improvement.

To succeed, you will need to combine delivery excellence practices with practical, flexible approaches resulting in value and efficiency for our business. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about technology and can lead culture and attitude shifts at all levels of the organization driving higher quality, faster time to market, and optimized investment performance. This is an outstanding opportunity to join our organization and fundamentally change how technology solutions are delivered. Can you lead teams collaborating on large programs within the context of an Agile evolution?

  • Works with technology operations to ensure quality and performance of production releases
  • Proficiency building impactful relationships quickly, and ability to communicate at senior leadership levels.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and thrive in ambiguous situations.

  • Previous experience with the integration of third-party vendor SaaS/PaaS solutions
  • Possess a high degree of technical savvy, with a keen ability to learn new technology quickly and easily
  • Experience within financial services or other highly regulated industries.
