Full Job Description
The Director PMO Portfolio Management coordinates the delivery of projects and initiatives within their portfolio while ensuring the accountability and growth of their team.

What You'll Do
  • Build and maintain partnership with Portfolio leaders and stakeholders to understand delivery needs and priorities within the Portfolio.
  • Ensure delivery of enterprise level projects within assigned portfolio to forward strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate communication, problem-solving and negotiation within the portfolio and across departments to ensure alignment.
  • Establish and foster a project management team environment promoting mutual accountability and growth to improve services and provide associate growth.
  • Validate and monitor frameworks and mechanisms for core project delivery activities such as planning, schedule management and project risk management to align services with culture and business drivers.
  • Validate and monitor financial tracking and cost management for all projects within assigned portfolio to ensure appropriate financial control.
  • Promote collaborative partnerships across the core project team, vendors, and impacted business areas to ensure cooperative delivery.
  • Coach and mentor project team members successfully operating in a project environment in support of associate growth.
  • Administer human resource-related activities including timely performance and salary reviews and ensure all subordinates adhere to human resources policies and practices. Select, develop, motivate, and recognize staff.


What it Takes
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years project management experience.
  • Agile and/or project management professional certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in a fast paced, information technology environment preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong operational focus preferred.
  • Vendor management experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in the Insurance industry preferred.
