The Director of Planning and Business Operations will play a critical leadership role in guiding eBay's next level of growth and transformation. The Business Operations and Planning organization acts as the connective tissue of the enterprise. It drives cross-functional alignment, supports planning and execution, and delivers operational efficiency and growth.
This role collaborates with finance, product, markets, and various eBay departments to support executive leadership. It helps manage enterprise planning and goal setting from start to finish. The role also leads weekly and monthly business reviews, executive reports, and analyzes insights on business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full planning process and collaborate across teams. Ensure roadmaps and plans are delivered on time and align with the company's direction.
- Set the approach and process for defining Company, Executive Leadership, and Priority level objectives and goals
- Coordinate and guide the weekly business review for the company with finance and other functions. Ensure we build a shared understanding of performance, encourage the right discussions about performance, and provide the appropriate insights on the business.
- Lead outreach, relationships and manage communications with internal stakeholders across functions and teams to source and maintain pulse on the business (breadth)
- Proactively lead and drive deep dives into business performance issues by anticipating inquiries and launching analysis in partnership with other stakeholders and bringing strategic insights to leadership (depth)
Competencies (Attributes needed to be successful in this role)
- 10+ years of experience in Planning, Business Operations, strategic finance, consulting or a similar strategic function. Experience in eCommerce or Technology space a plus
- Proven track record of leading, collaborating and influencing across large and complex global organizations
- Capable of flexing between high level strategic concepts & frameworks to getting into the details
- Great with numbers and metrics, can absorb both quantitative and qualitative information, synthesize, and strategically summarize takeaways ready for executives
- Entrepreneurial self-starter with a bias towards action who can thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
- Experience building and leading a team
- Ability to strategically structure and use frameworks to break down complex problems into clear steps and plans
- Excellent story-telling, written and verbal communication skills , with ability to facilitate transparent communications and collaboration across large teams
Additional DetailsThe base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$195,200 - $260,600
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
