Why this role is important?

Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Enterprise Pharmacy Operations and Clinical Excellence, you will lead strategic projects that will help shape the future of pharmacy practice at Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaw, and Pharmaprix pharmacies.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop and implement the vision to enhance the patient and colleague experience in our retail pharmacy locations
  • Lead the development of initiatives that improve efficiencies and experience in our retail pharmacies (e.g., Rx Delivery, Pharmacy Experience Program and others)
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to provide thought-leadership on the future of Pharmacy practice and ensure scope of projects are aligned to address this
  • Work with cross-functional teams to get stakeholder alignment on strategic projects
  • Work with key business stakeholders to bring the omni-channel Pharmacy journey to light in current retail network of stores
  • Work closely with Enterprise Operations Development & Systems, Pharmacy Services, Health & Wellness, Merchandising, National Operations, Professional Affairs, Loblaw Digital, Loblaw Technology, and Marketing, and other teams as necessary to realize our vision
  • Develop reports, presentations and content for key meetings, ensuring content and messaging are appropriate for different stakeholder groups
  • Manage projects: lead planning; monitor and report on progress; execute appropriate risk management, stakeholder management and change management activities; collaborate with various teams to ensure appropriate resourcing; lead design and implementation of new processes and required training; ensure proper handover at project conclusion
  • Travel to stores as needed to check on project progress and ensure project has traction
  • Provide regular project communication and status reporting
  • Work with appropriate parties to plan project resource requirements
  • Lead strategic project planning, milestone tracking, risk management, stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, design and implementation of new processes and project training, change management and hand over activities


What You'll Need:

This position requires a superior level of initiative and judgment in order to organize and prioritize tasks, workload, and projects. Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are required in dealing with colleagues in everyday working relationships.

  • Degree in Pharmacy is an asset (B.Sc. Pharmacy, M.Pharm, Pharm.D., etc)
  • Exceptional project and change management skills
  • Comfortable moving from 'Big Picture' strategic thinking to detailed execution seamlessly
  • Understanding of Design Thinking principles and when to apply them.
  • Extensive knowledge and skill in multiple disciplines to be able to integrate them effectively, and a capacity to understand and interpret conflicting goals and needs of diverse groups.
  • Able to organize a diverse function of integrated units by developing plans and setting directions.
  • Adaptable to set and prioritize work with multiple expectations. Able to work with diverse personalities and styles.
  • Able to communicate verbally with clarity in various settings (e.g., on the phone; in one-on-one and group settings, etc.).
  • Able to communicate well in writing by composing clear documents; facility with editing and/or proof-reading is required.
  • Computer skills to create and interpret reports, documents, spreadsheets and presentations.
  • Strong business acumen with superior knowledge of retail pharmacy operations
  • Experience greater than five years in pharmaceutical/retail operations, business
  • Experience with HealthWATCH considered an asset
