Job Purpose:

The Director, Pega Platform will be responsible for executing the enterprise, PREMIER One strategy for the Pega Platform, ensuring it delivers scalable digital solutions that support customer experience, operational efficiency, and business transformation. The role will lead the development, maintenance, and support of customer-facing and internal banking applications of the Pega Platform. This role will manage the strategic roadmap, oversee process improvements and workflow design, and optimize end-to-end processes to enhance the customer experience across digital channels, often requiring strong technical expertise in Pega tools and a deep understanding of banking operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Assist the AVP Digital Platforms with defining the long-term strategy for the Pega platform within the digital ecosystem. Align platform capabilities with enterprise digital transformation initiatives. Manage the platform roadmap, prioritized backlog, and key initiatives.
  • Partner with the AVP Digital Platforms to define and measure KPIs, KRIs, etc. to monitor and inform ongoing strategy and priorities. Establish a cadence for ongoing data monitoring and business impact assessment
  • Work closely with product owners, digital leaders, and business units. Translate business requirements into scalable platform capabilities. Provide reporting and updates on strategy and business priority alignment
  • Establish platform governance, reusable components, and development standards. Manage platform performance, reliability, and risk. Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements
  • Analyze business requirements, translate to Pega workflows, create user interfaces, and configure Pega components to meet specific banking needs.
  • Build complex case management systems for handling customer inquiries, loan applications, account opening processes, and other banking transactions within the Pega platform.
  • Utilize Pega's decisioning capabilities to create automated rules for credit approvals, fraud detection, customer service routing, and other critical banking decisions.
  • Integrate Pega applications with existing banking systems like core banking platforms, CRM systems, and data warehouses.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing to ensure the quality and stability of Pega applications.
  • Troubleshoot issues, resolve production errors, and provide ongoing maintenance for deployed Pega applications.
  • Interviews, hires, and trains new staff. Provides constructive and timely performance reviews. Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.


Skills:
  • Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders as well as business and technical teams
  • Understanding of banking operations, customer lifecycle, and relevant regulations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage large transformation programs
  • Strong proficiency in Pega development tools and concepts


Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or business administration, or equivalent work related experience preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience managing the Pega platform at a financial institution.
  • Proven people manager with five 5+ years of experience required.
  • Prior experience with leadership in an agile environment strongly preferred
  • Strong technical understanding of the Pega platform and its ecosystem, including knowledge of Pega architecture and design patterns required.
