Position Details:

  • Location: BayCare System Office West
  • Status: Full Time, Exempt: Yes
  • Shift Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Remote Work: Hybrid


Director of Patient Access and Care Continuity Summary:

  • Responsible at a system level for BayCare Health System's Access and Care Continuity Division.
  • Owns, standardizes, and continuously improves the end-to-end architecture of access across the enterprise, including referral intake, scheduling logic, care coordination between visits, and access center protocols.
  • Serves as the system's process champion for access by identifying variation and redundancy, designing workflows, establishing standards, and developing decision logic across markets and service lines to drive consistent, scalable solutions.
  • Partners with service line leaders, practice administrators, operational owners, and the project management office to improve speed-to-care, reduce network integrity issues, and strengthen the patient journey from first point of contact forward.
  • Brings a process-warrior mindset and ROI-driven orientation to every initiative by identifying friction, waste, and variation in access workflows while partnering with Information Systems to engineer scalable, technology-enabled solutions.
  • Requires deep pre-clinic to post-acute process fluency, typically built through experience leading a service line or practice, combined with the technical and AI acumen needed to modernize access through automation and intelligent tooling.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Engineering or a clinical field
  • 7+ years of progressive healthcare leadership experience with deep, demonstrated end-to-end process expertise such as service line leader, practice administrator or equivalent operational leadership role.
  • Proven track record designing, standardizing, and scaling complex operational processes across multiple sites or teams
  • Strong ROI orientation, with experience building business cases, quantifying process impact, and defending investment decisions to executive leadership
  • Technology and AI acumen sufficient to identify, evaluate, and champion automation opportunities within access and scheduling workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority

BayCare Ballpark is a baseball stadium located in Clearwater, Florida, in the United States. The stadium was built in 2004 and has a maximum seating capacity of 8,500 people. The ballpark is the spring training home of the Philadelphia Phillies, and also the home of their Class A affiliate, the Clearwater Threshers of the Florida State League. A sculpture titled The Ace—by artist Kevin Brady—stands at the ballpark's west entrance plaza.
