Job Description :

The New York Post is seeking a full-time Director, Paid Social to help lead the paid social strategy and play a pivotal role in growing the business. You will collaborate closely with video, design, marketing, and product teams to ensure a cohesive and engaging experience for our followers.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Social Media, you will have a significant impact on the success of brand partnerships, sponsorship opportunities and paid social across the business. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Own the paid social strategy across The New York Post's portfolio, serving as the internal subject matter expert across planning, activation, optimization, measurement, and emerging opportunities.

  • Lead and mentor a team of paid social professionals, providing direction and coaching while establishing scalable workflows, processes, and best practices.

  • Develop and execute end-to-end paid social strategies that grow audience, engagement, traffic, content reach, and revenue, while aligning with broader company objectives.

  • Manage and optimize campaigns across Meta (Facebook/Instagram), TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Snapchat, and X, staying ahead of platform updates, new products, and emerging capabilities.

  • Partner with the Senior Director of Social Media, editorial, and social teams to connect paid and organic strategy, identify high-potential content, and drive audience growth and monetization.

  • Collaborate with Sales, Brand Partnerships, marketing, product, design, and video teams to develop cohesive paid-social campaigns, sponsorship solutions, and advertiser programs.

  • Serve as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders, using platform expertise, audience insights, performance data, and reporting to make recommendations and drive optimization.

  • Build and maintain performance dashboards, reporting frameworks, and KPIs while monitoring campaign pacing and identifying opportunities to improve results.

  • Identify and test new platforms, formats, targeting strategies, tools, and optimization techniques, acting as an internal trend spotter across the evolving social ecosystem.

  • Educate stakeholders on paid social capabilities and best practices while balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, 24/7 media environment. 

What We’re Looking For: 

  • 4+ years of experience in paid social, paid media, digital media, or a related field, with significant hands-on campaign management and optimization experience.

  • 1–2+ years of experience managing, mentoring, or leading a team.

  • Deep knowledge of paid social platforms, including Meta/Facebook/Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Snapchat, and X.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing paid social strategies across planning, activation, optimization, measurement, and reporting.

  • Strong understanding of paid social fundamentals, including audience development, campaign structure, bidding, pacing, budget management, creative formats, targeting, and optimization.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations, including experience building dashboards and reporting to senior stakeholders.

  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with experience partnering across editorial, sales, marketing, product, design, video, and social teams.

  • Experience in a publisher, media company, agency, entertainment organization, or other fast-paced digital environment is highly valued, along with an understanding of the relationship between content, audience growth, paid media, and revenue.

  • Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and identify opportunities in a fast-moving environment.

  • Experience with photo/video editing, social content creation, writing, or copy-editing is a plus.

  • Must be flexible around occasional weekend and holiday work based on the needs of a 24/7 media organization.

Note: This role will be on-site five days per week in our New York newsroom. The schedule for this role is Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm EST.

Base Pay Range: $95,000 - $110,000 + bonus

We’re committed to offering competitive and flexible compensation to attract top talent. This pay range reflects our good faith estimate for the role and may vary based on a candidate’s experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors.

For bonus-eligible roles, targets are determined based on multiple considerations, including market benchmarks and individual contributions.
