Job Description

This role serves as a key operational partner across Group Reinsurance, Finance, Risk Management, IT and clients, to ensure accurate administration, strong controls, timely reporting, and continuous improvement of operational processes. The position requires a strong understanding of reinsurance operations, financial reporting, treaty administration, systems support, and cross-functional stakeholder management. The role is expected to identify operational trends, lead process improvement initiatives, support control performance, and drive automation and reporting enhancements that strengthen the efficiency, accuracy of Group Reinsurance operations.

Responsibilities

General Operations
  • Oversee and support all aspects of Group Reinsurance Operations including premium, claims, and policy administration. Includes maintenance of internal and external customer relationships that support these activities.
  • Monitor day-to-day operational performance for the Group Reinsurance team and identify issues, trends, risks, and opportunities requiring action or escalation.
  • Lead recurring operational review meetings providing insight into emerging trends, service performance, process effectiveness and operational priorities. Participate in and/or lead process improvement efforts.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, external clients and other business partners to support timely and accurate premium and claims administration.
  • Interact directly with clients to resolve premium, claims, accounting, billing, receivable, and other operational matters.
  • Support external retrocession reporting requirements, ensuring deliverables are completed accurately and in accordance with required timelines.
  • Lead the annual expense budgeting process for Group Reinsurance, partnering with Finance and business stakeholders to develop, monitor, and explain budget activity.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned to support departmental and business objectives.


Financial Reporting
  • Produce accurate and timely Group Reinsurance financial reports on a quarterly or monthly cycle.
  • Create, manage and automate experience reporting, performance dashboards and analytical tools used to monitor the performance of each account.
  • Perform experience refund calculations for relevant accounts according to treaty terms.
  • Support statutory, data calls, premium tax reporting needs, and internal finance requests and other financial reporting needs


System Support / Business Analyst
  • Serve as a business liaison between Group Reinsurance and internal IT staff.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing system design and strengthen internal process flows.
  • Administers claims, premium, brokerage commissions and other payments/receivables through internal SCOR systems including Omega and Everest.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on operational processes, system usage, and data/reporting needs.


Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of relative work experience in reinsurance/insurance with operations, accounting or analytics experience.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of premium, claims, policy administration, receivables, payables, and/or reinsurance accounting processes.
  • Experience producing financial, operational or experience-based reporting
  • Ability to interpret treaty terms and apply them to operational and financial calculations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and process improvement skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate work within required deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Group Life and Accident reinsurance products preferred.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills analysis of data to reach a well-reasoned solution.
  • Proficient in Windows environment, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and co-pilot

Pay Range for roles performed in MN: $103,000-$126,000 base salary per year. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience,

role and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR's total compensation package for employees.
