The Role

The Director, Onboarding Systems, Reporting & Analytics is responsible for the strategic oversight, governance, and continuous enhancement of the technology, data, reporting, and analytics capabilities supporting Global Banking & Markets (GBM) Client Onboarding.

This role serves as the business owner for Fenergo, GBM's core onboarding platform, ensuring the system remains aligned with evolving regulatory requirements, operational needs, and business objectives. The incumbent will lead the development and execution of the onboarding technology roadmap, drive data quality and governance initiatives, enhance reporting and analytics capabilities, and identify opportunities to improve the client onboarding experience.

The Director will work closely with Operations, Compliance, AML/KYC, Technology, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions that support regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and informed decision-making.

Strategic Systems Ownership
  • Provide business ownership and governance oversight for Fenergo and related onboarding platforms.
  • Develop and execute a long-term roadmap for onboarding technology and process transformation.
  • Manage key vendor relationships and partner with technology teams to drive system enhancements and product development.
  • Oversee system maintenance, upgrade support, user access governance, audit readiness, and first-line operational support activities.


Regulatory & Data Governance Leadership
  • Ensure onboarding systems continue to meet regulatory and recordkeeping requirements across applicable jurisdictions.
  • Establish and maintain data quality standards, controls, and governance frameworks across the onboarding ecosystem.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve onboarding efficiency, scalability, and client experience.


Reporting & Analytics
  • Lead the Reporting & Analytics function for GBM Onboarding.
  • Partner with business, AML/KYC, Compliance, and Operations stakeholders to define and deliver meaningful performance metrics and management reporting.
  • Develop analytics and insights that support strategic decision-making, regulatory initiatives, operational transparency, and governance reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to automate reporting processes and enhance data visualization and management information capabilities.


Leadership & Risk Management
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and inclusive team environment.
  • Promote a strong client-centric culture while balancing regulatory and risk management requirements.
  • Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Scotiabank's risk framework, policies, Code of Conduct, and applicable regulatory obligations.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and escalate operational, compliance, AML/KYC, and conduct risks as appropriate.


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
  • 10+ years of experience within financial services, capital markets, investment banking operations, or regulatory operations.
  • Proven experience owning or managing enterprise platforms that support regulatory, compliance, onboarding, or operational processes. Experience with Fenergo is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale technology initiatives, business transformation programs, or operational change initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets operations and the trade lifecycle across corporate and investment banking products.
  • Working knowledge of AML/KYC regulations, client onboarding requirements, and associated regulatory expectations.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and technology partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Experience establishing data governance, controls, and reporting frameworks within a regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically while driving execution and delivering measurable results.
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Technology, or a related discipline. Relevant industry certifications are considered an asset.
