Job Description

Position Summary:
The Director of Sports Science assists the Assistant Athletic Director (AD) of Strength and Performance in overseeing all aspects of the athletic performance and sports science program, ensuring compliance with NCAA, American Athletic Conference, and University regulations. This role reports directly to the Assistant AD of Strength and Performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead operations of sports science department.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strength and conditioning programs for assigned sports.
  • Maintain records for all sport teams.
  • Oversee the sports performance and sports science pathways.
  • Serve as a positive role model, promoting values such as hard work, discipline, and enthusiasm.
  • Maintain up-to-date records on data analytics programs for each assigned team and individual workouts.
  • Collaborate with all sports to monitor student-athlete progress.
  • Maintain all sports science technology in both FA Dry and ACE strength and performance facilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant AD for Athletic Performance

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in exercise science or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of strength training experience, preferably at the collegiate level.
  • Current certification from a nationally accredited strength and conditioning program.
  • Current CPR/AED certification (course cannot be completed solely online).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and management skills.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations regarding compliance issues.
