Full Job Description
The Mandarin Oriental, Boston is looking for a Director of Spa & Wellness to join our team.

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Boston within the Spa Department, the Director of Spa & Wellness is responsible for the strategic leadership, financial performance, and operational execution of all Spa functions, including Storytelling & Experiences. This role serves as a key commercial and operational partner, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while driving revenue growth, market awareness, and brand differentiation.

The Director of Spa & Wellness reports to the Hotel Manager. The Spa Operations Manager and Spa Treatments Manager report to the Director of Spa & Wellness.

As Director of Spa & Wellness, you will be responsible for the following duties:

Strategic Leadership
  • Provide visionary leadership and direction for all Spa operations.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans that align with hotel business objectives, revenue goals, and brand standards.
  • Drive innovation and continuously enhance the guest experience through creative programming, wellness experiences, and service excellence.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the Spa team.


Spa and Wellness Storytelling & Experiences
  • Curate and lead storytelling initiatives that bring the hotel's wellness identity to life.
  • Work with marketing team to create authentic narratives around spa menu, wellness offerings, local culture, and partnerships.
  • Develop experiential wellness concepts, seasonal activations, collaborations, , and destination experiences.
  • Ensure consistency of brand messaging across all guest touchpoints and platforms.


Financial Management
  • Achieve and exceed revenue, profit, and productivity targets across all Spa operations.
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, labor costs, and capital expenditures.
  • Identify opportunities to drive incremental revenue and improve margins.
  • Analyze business trends and implement strategies to optimize financial performance.


Talent Development & Leadership
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing leaders and colleagues.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and succession plans.
  • Promote a culture focused on luxury service, innovation, teamwork, and professional development.
  • Lead by example and champion employee engagement initiatives.

As Director of Spa & Wellness,we expect from you:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the spa or wellness industry; experience in luxury hospitality strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience in a management or leadership position, preferably as a Spa or Wellness Director.
  • Experience with budget management, financial reporting, and revenue generation strategies.
  • Knowledge of spa treatments, therapies, fitness programs, and wellness trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively build and maintain guest relationships.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills to develop and implement successful Spa strategies.
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $130,000 annually.
