Full Job Description
The Director of School-Based Programs will oversee a portfolio of high school sites as part of the NYC Public Schools Community School Initiative, NYSED, and NYC DYCD grant-funded programs. The selected candidate will report to the Senior Director of School-Based High School Programs. Responsibilities: Supervision and Management: - Coach, train, and provide capacity-building support for staff across all program sites to ensure adherence to programmatic standards and best practices - Ensure school-based directors are working collaboratively with school administrators and school stakeholders - Support a collaborative high school team that shares challenges, best practices, and resources - Advance school goals, develop and execute quality programs and services - Provide support to and supervision of high school directors within the portfolio, including: - Conduct regular staff supervision and team meetings - Use site visits for informal and formal observations, to provide immediate feedback, and offer support and coaching for areas of improvement - Review, interpret, and communicate regulatory requirements to staff; monitor and implement corrective action plans as needed - Oversee program budgets and support directors in budget development and spending guidelines - Manage HR functions in coordination with the Global Kids HR Director Organizational Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement: - Participate in the GK program leadership team, including providing input on programs, funding, staffing, organizational issues, and special initiatives and projects - Assist in the hiring and training of GK staff - Liaise with funders and program managers - Manage confidential information in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards. - Collaborate with Global Kids cross-functional teams, including communications, marketing, and program staff, to align messaging, branding, and goals for maximum impact Program Development: - Support the implementation of high-quality youth development, workforce development, and global educational programs across multiple schools - Ensure that programs and services are aligned with the school's goals, GK outcomes, and funder expectations, and meet benchmarks for success - Collaborate with partners to support the evolving needs of the school community Outcomes & Evaluation - Conduct regular internal audits to ensure proper data collection, contractual, and regulatory compliance - Ensure each school-based program conducts annual assessments and needs assessments that seek input from all stakeholders and determine programming based on the ongoing needs of students and families Qualifications: - Master's degree or higher in a related field and seven (7) years of relevant professional experience. - Experience supervising personnel and managing staff across multiple sites. - Experience managing multiple contracts with demanding performance measures and outcomes. - Experience with or strong knowledge of the NYC Public Schools and Department of Youth and Community Development. - Strong understanding of a wide array of NYC social service resources. - Strong knowledge of global issues, political science, history, and social activism. - Strong communication, writing, organizational, and technology skills.
