Full Job Description
Dripping Springs Racquet Club, located in Austin, TX, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Director of Racquets! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you'll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

As the Director of Racquets, you are responsible for the overall racquets operations at your facility and will report directly to the GM. Working within the framework of Cliff Drysdale Management & PBI, the Director will run an operation compatible with the interests of members and their guests as well as club staff and owners. This includes the quality of the club's racquets sports services and programs along with the security and protection of the club's assets and facilities.

Job Expectations:

  • Develop, manage and improve a racquets facility within the suggested guidelines of Cliff Drysdale Tennis/PBI and adhering to the framework of DSRC process and policy.
  • Be the leader of your racquets sport facility, both in on and off-court activities.
  • You can expect to teach a minimum of 20 hours weekly and a maximum of 30 on court weekly. This may vary depending on season.
  • Create a regular schedule of hours that you are on-site.
  • When not on-site be available on call to deal with emergencies or appoint someone else at your club.
  • Your Salary includes all duties described in the job responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Administers and enforces facility policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to the Employee Handbook.
  • Plan, develop and grow the racquets programs for all levels:
    • Lessons
    • Adult and junior clinics
    • Special Competitive Events
    • Leagues
    • Tournaments
    • All Sports Intro/Beginner Programs (Adult Red Ball, 101, 201
    • Red, Orange and Green Ball, Juniors and High performance
  • Selection, training, supervising and evaluation coaching staff.
  • Markets facilities to members and guests.
  • Ensures that all facility members and guests receive courteous, prompt and professional attention to all their racquets sport's needs.
  • Ensures the safety of members, guests and staff by following safety guidelines.
  • Ensure revenue is properly recorded into POS system and reconciled daily to schedule.
  • Provides lessons and clinics relating to the techniques and strategies of racquets sports to members and guests.
  • On a daily basis ensures that the courts are in the best playing conditions possible.
  • Conduct weekly instructional staff meetings.
  • Contributes to racquets sports-related news for the facility newsletter and website.
  • Assist in developing budgets and take appropriate action to ensure budget goals are met with Corporate Marketing applicable promotion campaigns.
  • Maintains a close working relationship with the Facility General Manager/Owners and non-racquets sports facility staff.
  • Attend facility management meetings.
  • Provides monthly reports as required by DSRC Operations.
  • Inspects and maintains all physical areas for cleanliness and safety.
  • Inspects and maintains all equipment for physical condition and safety.
  • Ensures that payroll entry is correct for all instructional staff.
  • Responsible for accurate recording of all on-court programming.
  • Strong knowledge of racquets sports merchandise in order to properly give information to members.
  • Responsible for knowing the facility POS system and training coaching staff to use the system as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION: Salary plus programming commissions focused on program and membership growth:

Component Pay structure
Base salary $100,000
Membership bonus Up to $20,000-$25,000 Programming gross-profit incentive Up to $30,000
Target compensation Approximately $150,000-$155,000 Exceptional-performance maximum No more than $160,000 without board approval
