The Director of Project Management & Strategic Initiatives will lead the Project Management Office (PMO) within EWS Operations. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing a high-impact portfolio of organizational projects, ensuring operational excellence, and translating strategic vision into actionable execution plans.
This role requires being in the office 3 days/week on Tues - Thurs.This position does not offer immigration sponsorship (current or future) including F-1 STEM OPT extension support.This role manages a team of project and program management leaders focusing on resource optimization, process improvement and transformation. The ideal candidate is an analytical, results-oriented leader with a proven track record of scaling PMO practices, managing complex cross-functional portfolios, and influencing stakeholders across the organization.
What you'll do:- Build and instill project / program rigor for the team including a standardized intake and prioritization model, presentation templates, reporting and PM tools.
- People Leadership: Manage, coach, and develop a team of PM leaders (Managers/Senior PMs); drive workload distribution based on team capacity and business prioritization.
- Plan and manage projects, including defining scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Distribute workload based on employee bandwidth, capability, and business prioritization
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.
- Collaborate with various teams to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and create implementation plans to increase efficiency and guarantee quality delivery.
- Prepare detailed executive reports on project status, performance, and key metrics.
- Analyze data and trends to provide insights and recommendations to leadership.
What experience you need: - Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field; MBA or Master's preferred.
- 7+ years of project management experience, with several years in a leadership role (e.g., Director or Senior PMO role).
- Experience creating and managing detailed project plans.
- Experience in developing and presenting reports to executive leadership.
Things that would set you apart:- Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) is strongly preferred; PgMP or PfMP is a plus.
- Proven experience leading Agile transformations
- Skills: Strong strategic thinking, leadership, risk management, and communication skills.
- Technology: Proficient in project management software (e.g Jira, ServiceNow)
