Overview

The Director of Programsprovides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the effective implementation ofStateprograms. This roleis responsible forrecruiting, developing, and managing a high-performing team;establishingclear goals and timelines; and ensuring fidelity to national procedures that promote strong member experiences and program outcomes.Thisposition fosters and expands site partnerships, serving as a key ambassador to strengthen community relationships and advance new partnership opportunities. Additionally, theDirector of Programsensures compliance with all grant and contract requirements throughaccuratereporting,timelydeliverables, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Program Leadership&Management

    • Recruit, onboard, and set clear expectations for a designatedregionalteam.Assign caseloads, help balance priorities, oversee their performance,and provide guidanceto navigate complex situations.
    • Provide leadership and direction to the overallprogramtranslating vision into strategy. Establishan annual timeline of key activities essential for effective program implementation, lead team to meet milestones, and use data to measure progress.
    • Implement national procedureslocallythat supporta positive member experience, efficient and effective training structure, and strong fidelity of program implementation.
    • Oversee recruitment process toattract andretainhigh performing members.

    Site Partnership Development &New Community Advancement

    • Maintainstrongpartnerships and relationships withexistingsite partnersandestablishrelationships with new potential partners.
    • Present information about the program to key stakeholders,solicitunderstanding and buy-in to the program models, and lead the efforts to prepare for implementation. Act as a brand ambassador to build name recognition and community connections toAmpactprograms and staff.
    • Ensuresite agreements aresignedand site partners have the resources and understanding to effectively support AmeriCorps members and implementAmpactprograms.

    Grant Management&Reporting

    • Meet expectations of all grants and contracts that provide funding for the program.
    • Write andsubmitprogress reports. Work within specifictimelineand across functional areas to ensureaccurateandtimelyreporting.
    • Collaborate with State Commissions or funders to execute grant deliverablesand site visit coordination for state, private or foundation funders.

    Minimum Education

    • Bachelor27s Degree

    Minimum Experience

    • 5+years program management and program implementation experience.
    • Proven interpersonal skills including the ability to build relationships, solve problems, mediate conflict, and exercise sound judgment.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills, characterized by the ability to gain respect, delegate tasks, manage workloads,collaborate effectively,and positively influence others.
    • Ability to structure tasks,establishpriorities, communicate deadlines,and set and manage employee performance.
    • Proficiencywith MS Office and Excel. Ability toutilizevideo conferencing effectively.
    • Must have the ability to travel byautomobile15 percent of the time to locations and/or meetings throughout the region.

    Physical Requirements

    This position requires the ability to:

    • Travel locally and statewide as needed to attend meetings
    • Communicate effectively with people/groups in multiple settings within and outside the organization
    • Effectivelyutilizeexisting and emerging technology to achieve required results

    Transporting of moderately heavy objects up to 25 pounds
