Full Job Description
Eaton's Electrical Sector is hiring a Director of Program Management in Pittsburgh, PA. Relocation assistance is offered.

The Director of Program Management provides strategic leadership for the program management function across Eaton's Protection and Control Solutions (PCS) business. This role leads a portfolio of complex new product development, major redesign, and transformation initiatives spanning divisions, product lines, and global locations.

This leader is responsible for building organizational capability, driving disciplined portfolio execution, and ensuring program management practices, tools, and governance effectively support growth, innovation, and productivity. Reporting into senior leadership, this role leads a team of program management professionals and partners closely with engineering, operations, marketing, supply chain, finance, and executive leaders to align priorities, accelerate time to market, and strengthen cross-functional execution. The Director will also champion a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and lean discipline.

Success in this role requires a highly influential leader with deep program and portfolio management expertise, strong business and technical acumen, and a proven ability to lead through complexity, scale change, and elevate organizational performance. The expected annual salary range for this role is $165000 - $242000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. What you'll do:
• Lead the program management function for the PCS business, defining vision, operating model, governance, and talent strategy.
• Own the program and portfolio management process, including prioritization, resource allocation, funding recommendations, and roadmap development.
• Drive execution of a portfolio of complex new product development, redesign, and transformation initiatives, ensuring delivery across scope, schedule, cost, quality, and business outcomes.
• Partner cross-functionally with engineering, operations, marketing, supply chain, finance, and senior leadership to align priorities and remove execution barriers.
• Lead portfolio governance and executive review forums, providing clear insights and recommendations to enable effective decision-making.
• Build organizational capability by developing talent, standardizing tools and processes, and implementing best practices to improve consistency and predictability.
• Lead large-scale, global, cross-functional initiatives that drive transformation and measurable business impact in a matrixed environment.
• Monitor portfolio health using dashboards, KPIs, and operating reviews to improve performance and resource decisions.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum 10 years of experience leading complex engineering programs, new product development, and/or portfolio management initiatives in a manufacturing or technology environment
• Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience
• Authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
• MBA or advanced degree
• Proven success leading large, cross-functional program portfolios with accountability for prioritization, resource alignment, execution, and business results
• Deep expertise in program and portfolio management methodologies, governance, and tools (e.g., stage-gate, enterprise portfolio reporting)
• Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and communicate across all organizational levels
• Strong business, technical, and financial acumen; ability to evaluate trade-offs and drive decisions in complex environments
• Experience building high-performing teams through coaching, talent development, and implementation of standardized processes and metrics
• PMP or equivalent program management certification
• Experience with business intelligence and portfolio management tools (e.g., dashboards, KPIs, executive reporting)
• Experience operating within global engineering or industrial technology organizations
• Familiarity with agile or hybrid delivery models and enterprise portfolio tools (e.g., Planview, CA PPM, or similar)
• Knowledge of electrical products, power distribution, protection and control systems, or related industrial applications
• Experience leading transformation, process improvement, or operating model initiatives in a matrixed global organization
