ABOUT THE ROLELayerZero is standing up a product discipline for the first time at scale. We have an aggressive roadmap, strong engineering, and a clear inflection point as a company. We need someone who can define what great product looks like here, build and protect the team that executes it, and operate credibly at the executive level.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Build and lead LayerZero's product function - define the operating model, hiring bar, and culture of the team from the ground up.
- Directly manage IC PMs across our product lines; set standards, unblock execution, and develop the team.
- Be the product voice at the executive level - represent the product function in leadership discussions on roadmap, resourcing, and strategic direction.
- Own the cross-product roadmap; ensure all product lines are moving in a coherent direction with clear priorities.
- Drive alignment between engineering, BD, and the product team - translate business and technical context into executable product strategy.
- Set and defend the hiring bar for every PM LayerZero brings in; own the process from intake through close.
- Protect the team from context-switching, misaligned priorities, and organizational drag - create the conditions for ICs to do their best work.
ABOUT YOU- You have 7+ years in product, including 2+ years managing PMs or leading a product function.
- You are crypto-native or have deep technical product experience in adjacent infrastructure - developer platforms, financial infrastructure, or security-critical systems.
- You have operated at the executive level and can hold your own in strategic conversations with engineering and BD leadership.
- You have hired and developed strong ICs; you know what great product talent looks like and how to attract it.
- You have a builder mentality - you have shipped products yourself and maintain technical credibility with engineers.
- You can navigate competing opinions and organizational complexity while keeping the team focused on outcomes.
- You communicate with precision and default to overcommunication in ambiguous situations.
- You thrive in environments with strong opinions, low process, and high autonomy.
