Director of PM Overview We're supporting a Detroit-based industrial contractor seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex mechanical/electrical/industrial projects from pre-construction through closeout. This is a senior-level role with long-term growth potential for someone who can run the work, manage clients, and drive field execution.
Responsibilities - Full project ownership from kickoff through turnover
- Manage schedules, budgets, manpower, subcontractors, and field coordination
- Lead client communication, progress meetings, and issue resolution
- Oversee procurement, change orders, cost tracking, and documentation
- Ensure safety, quality, and production targets are met
- Partner with field leadership to drive daily execution
- Support estimating, pre-planning, and project strategy as needed
Qualifications - 5+ years as a Project Manager in industrial, mechanical, electrical, or heavy commercial construction
- Experience with manufacturing plants, millwright work, rigging, or industrial facilities is a plus
- Strong understanding of project financials, scheduling, and field operations
- Ability to manage multiple projects and lead teams
- Solid communication and client-facing skills
