DescriptionThe RoleThe Director of Planning is a critical leadership role responsible for building and leading the company's end-to-end operational planning function. This role translates demand forecasts into executable operational plans across fulfillment and last-mile delivery, ensuring the business is optimized for service, efficiency, and scalability.
The Director will own capacity planning, labor planning, and scheduling strategy, while driving continuous improvement through data, technology, and cross-functional alignment. This leader partners closely with Operations, Transportation, Supply Chain, and Technology to balance customer demand with operational constraints and cost efficiency.
What You'll Do- Own end-to-end operational planning, translating demand forecasts into execution across fulfillment and last-mile delivery
- Lead capacity and labor planning to align volume, productivity, and service-level targets.
- Partner with Demand Planning to improve forecast accuracy and manage variability.
- Develop and enhance planning models, tools, and reporting to enable data-driven decisions
- Drive productivity improvements and cost optimization across operations.
- Lead peak and seasonal planning, including contingency strategies for demand fluctuations
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Transportation, and Technology to align planning with execution
- Build and lead a high-performing planning team focused on performance and continuous improvement
What You'll Bring- 8-10+ years of experience in planning, analytics, operations strategy, or supply chain management
- Bachelor's degree required or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree (MBA, MS in Supply Chain, Analytics, or related field) preferred
- Proven experience in high-volume environments such as e-commerce, grocery, retail, logistics, or last-mile delivery
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data modeling, forecasting, and scenario planning
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with planning tools, BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), or SQL
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable operational plans.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Strong people leadership experience, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams
Salary: The salary range for this role is from $160,000 -$190,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary based on many factors including but not limited to candidate experience, and skills.
