Full Job Description
Director of Operations.

Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the VP/GM (Bussman Division), the Director will lead Operations for one of the fastest growing divisions within the Electrical Sector. Total US division revenue is over $600 million, with over 3,700 employees and 4 manufacturing sites in the US, Dominican Republic and Mexico.

The Operations Director position will be responsible for the overall leadership of Manufacturing and Operational Excellence functions, with multi-site plant facilities geographically dispersed across the region. This position will lead across functional areas (manufacturing, quality, operational excellence, logistics, production, and EHS) and work closely with other businesses and functional leaders to ensure standardization and establishment of performance metrics. This role will also be responsible for developing and implementing in partnership with the plant operations staff a strategy to support achievement of the organization's financial metrics/goals as defined by the profit and strategic plans.

Essential Functions:
• Proactively champion a culture focused on Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), driving a zero-incident culture. Empower employees and drive accountability for EHS to all levels in the organization.
• Develop short and long-term plans in alignment with division manufacturing strategy and annual profit plan objectives to drive operational performance and financial results.
• Drive attainment to profit plan goals with focus on high five metrics by manufacturing operations and operating profit.
• Establish objectives and track key performance indicators across the organization. Ensure prompt and accurate reporting systems on all aspects of Operations, leveraging EPM and Balanced Score Card.
• Establish inventory plans by product family/site and proactively manage inventory to profit plan, driving improved and sustainable processes. Execute the Supply, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process, driving ownership and collaboration across all stakeholder groups. Ensure forecasts generated meet customer expectations and profit plan objectives.
• Partner and network with Supply Chain, Quality and CI organizations to ensure functional alignment of roles and responsibilities, strategic objectives, annual goals and metrics, and performance.
• Develop and cultivate relationships with key suppliers (internal and external) to ensure high quality relationships and products.
• Create a culture of exceeding customer expectations, ensuring that the organization is highly responsive to customer needs and issues. Work with key stakeholders across BUL Marketing, Engineering and Operations to ensure achievement of end-to-end goals.
• Continuously improve operations through alignment with the Eaton Business System with a strong focus on driving a Lean Culture to drive cost out of the organization.
• Develop and execute strategic capital spending plans for Operations to ensure adequate capacity to meet growth objectives.
• Drive change through improved organizational capability, providing leadership in recruiting, goal alignment, employee development, performance management and communication. Ensure motivation and retention of a high-performance management team and workforce.

Required Qualifications:
• Ten (10) years of manufacturing and/or technical experience and expertise
• Seven (7) years of leadership responsibility over multi-site Manufacturing Operations.
• Plant manager experience in large manufacturing facility
• Demonstrated expertise in manufacturing systems with a proven track record of building organizational capability and developing talent.
• Strong knowledge of current technologies in manufacturing (assembly and fabrication), engineering, materials management/inventory control, distribution and logistics, purchasing, and quality assurance systems, processes, and practices.
• Solid financial and business acumen with prior profit and loss (P&L) responsibility.

• Eaton recognizes this role as a critical position within the corporation and will create a compelling package consisting of a base salary, employee incentive compensation, including long term incentive and complete benefits.
