DIRECTOR OF NURSING RESOURCES AND PATIENT FLOW

Job Responsibilities

The Director of Nursing Resources and Patient Flow assumes responsibility and accountability for the 24-hour leadership and oversight hospital wide patient flow, nursing resource management, centralized staffing operations, float pool and medical telemetry and stroke unit operations. This position is responsible for optimizing patient flow, ensuring appropriate level of care placement, and aligning nursing resources to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

The director oversees key operational areas including patient placement, nursing supervision, wound care, and the medical telemetry and stroke unit. This role ensures quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and performance initiatives are upheld. The director ensures multidisciplinary collaboration to optimize patient flow, patient satisfaction, productivity, and staffing efficiency.

The director collaborates and partners with the Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer to establish, implement, and evaluate evidenced-based standards of care and operational practices, while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and service excellence across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience in an acute care setting required; Minimum of 5 years experience in nursing management required.
  • Emergency Department and/or Intensive Care bedside nursing experience preferred.
  • Current registered nurse license to practice in state of Florida required.
  • Current American heart Association BLS and ACLS required.
  • Professional nursing certification in leadership preferred; LEAN certification preferred
  • On-site or minor travel
