Director of Nursing and Wellness The primary purpose of this position is to provide high-quality, holistic nursing care, while also leading licensed and non-professional staff in the delivery of direct resident care and support functions. The Director of Nursing will also plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall functions of the Nursing Services Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the residence, and as may be directed by the Executive Director to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
Responsibilities- Oversee the daily operations of the Nursing Services Department.
- Supervise, mentor, and support licensed nurses and caregiving staff.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and company policies.
- Develop, implement, and monitor nursing care plans to ensure quality resident care.
- Coordinate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support resident well-being.
- Conduct staff training, evaluations, and performance management.
- Monitor clinical documentation and medication management practices for accuracy and compliance.
- Promote a safe, supportive, and resident-centered environment.
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist the Executive Director in planning and implementing clinical programs and services.
Qualifications- Must possess a current and active license to practice as an LPN/LVN or Registered Nurse (RN) in this state.
- Must have, as a minimum, 1 year of experience in nursing. Two years of experience in a long-term care facility is preferred.
Knowledge Requirements- Must have experience in supervision, principles, and practice of teaching, etc.
- Must possess skills in leadership and communication.
- Must possess creativity, integrity, and initiative.
- Must be able to provide critical thinking skills to address clinical issues.
