Full Job Description
NATURE AND SCOPE:

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Director of Marketing leads the YMCA of Metro Atlanta's integrated brand and digital marketing strategy to drive awareness, member acquisition, retention, program revenue, philanthropy support, engagement, and measurable growth.

This role translates organizational priorities into clear marketing plans, campaign roadmaps, channel strategies, measurable KPIs, and actionable reporting. The Director oversees brand campaigns, agency partnerships, paid media, CRM/Marketing Cloud, owned digital channels, and performance optimization to deliver consistent, compelling member experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

Marketing Strategy & Go-to-Market Leadership
  • Develop annual and seasonal marketing strategies aligned to organizational goals, revenue targets, growth priorities, and brand objectives.
  • Lead integrated marketing calendar planning and go-to-market execution across Membership, Programs, Philanthropy, Sports, and other association-wide initiatives.
  • Translate business objectives into campaign plans, messaging priorities, audience strategies, channel plans, KPIs, and clear cross-functional workflows.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CMO and senior leaders, positioning MarCom as a center of excellence for consistent, effective marketing across the association.


Digital Marketing, CRM & Lifecycle Strategy
  • Lead digital strategy across paid media, CRM/Marketing Cloud/SMS, website, and emerging digital platforms.
  • Oversee Salesforce Marketing Cloud strategy and implementation in partnership with the CMO, digital team members, and agency partners.
  • Build lifecycle marketing approaches that support member acquisition, retention, program growth, revenue generation, and brand equity.
  • Identify and apply digital trends, AI integrations, and new technologies that improve marketing effectiveness, personalization, reporting, and the member digital experience.


Campaign Execution, Paid Media & Agency Management
  • Lead relationships with agencies, media partners, vendors, contractors, and consultants, ensuring clear priorities, expectations, timelines, and performance standards.
  • Oversee multi-channel campaign execution across paid search, display, mobile/MMS, paid social, email, web, branch-level assets, and other digital channels.
  • Partner with Creative, Communications, Membership, Programs, Philanthropy, Operations, and branch teams to align campaign creative, messaging, media plans, and channel execution.
  • Optimize marketing investments through data-informed prioritization, budget allocation, campaign testing, and performance insights.


Website, User Experience & Digital Performance
  • Oversee website strategy to support brand equity, revenue growth, strategic communications, user experience, and overall marketing performance.
  • Partners with agency and internal teams to improve website discoverability and performance, including SEO, AEO, GEO, digital content, and conversion paths.
  • Guide website platform, hosting, or infrastructure transitions as needed to improve user experience, brand presentation, and campaign effectiveness.
  • Develop internal process for timely site content updates with department leaders


Analytics, Reporting & Optimization
  • Define metrics for major campaigns, channels, media investments, and association initiatives.
  • Monitor performance across Power BI, Meta, Google, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, website analytics, and other reporting platforms.
  • Deliver concise performance reporting to leadership, highlighting impact, learnings, opportunities, and recommended next steps.
  • Translate internal and external consumer data into insights that inform campaign strategy, messaging, media allocation, retention efforts, and revenue growth.
  • Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Lead, coach, and provide direction reports, including setting priorities, clarifying responsibilities, and improving workflows.
  • Ensure the team has the tools, templates, processes, and cross-functional alignment needed to execute efficiently and consistently.
  • Build strong relationships with Operations, Finance, Philanthropy, Programs, branch leadership, Creative, Digital, PR/Communications, and external partners.
  • Lead association-wide marketing training and brand compliance efforts to support strategic alignment from the association office to Y branches.


REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Communication Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of progressive marketing experience, including strategy development, campaign leadership, digital marketing, people management, agency management, and cross-functional leadership.
  • 2+ Years of experience with direct people management
  • Demonstrated experience leading integrated marketing across brand, CRM/email, paid media, website, content, owned channels, analytics, and campaign optimization
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, CRM platforms, audience segmentation, customer journeys, email marketing platforms, and digital analytics preferred
  • Strong ability to translate data into insights, recommendations, and strategic decisions for senior leadership and cross-functional partners
  • Excellent project management, written communication, verbal communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency with AI tools, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (Canva a plus); professional initiative, creativity, adaptability, and an innovation mindset


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
  • 8+ years of progressive marketing experience, including strategy development, campaign leadership, digital marketing, people management, agency management, and cross-functional leadership.
  • Canva experience
  • Non-profit experience
