Director of Market Access

Job Summary

The Director of Market Access will lead strategy and execution across federal healthcare markets, including the Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, and other government agencies as appropriate. This role focuses on expanding the company's core generics and complex products portfolio, including 505(b)(2), specialty and biosimilars, across both traditional and emerging federal distribution channels.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Market Access, this role requires a high level of engagement with key federal partners, a strong understanding of the procurement and contracting landscape and a strategic mindset to expand access and drive performance across product lines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Lead development and execution of sales strategies to expand the company's Complex Products portfolio including 505(b)(2), specialty and biosimilars across federal healthcare markets and other government agencies as appropriate.
• Maintain strong working relationships with accounts and key government points of contact to support long-term collaboration and consistent customer service.
• Identify and develop opportunities within emerging and non-traditional federal healthcare channels to expand access for both core generics and Complex Products.
• Work closely with internal teams including Contracting, Regulatory, Vendor Relations and Operations to support federal customer needs, ensure product availability, and align with market requirements.
• Track performance metrics, analyze market trends, and provide regular reporting and insights to support strategic planning.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal procurement regulations, company policies and ethical standards.

Required Qualifications
• Clinical degree or background: PharmD, RPh, NP, PA, BSN/MSN with clinical practice experience, or equivalent clinical healthcare credential.
• 2+ years of experience in pharmaceuticals, market access, or business development.
• Proven ability to engage and influence clinical decision-makers for P&T committees, pharmacy directors, formulary managers, and prescribers.
• Demonstrated knowledge of generics, 505(b)(2), specialty and biosimilars within federal healthcare channels.
• Strong working knowledge of federal procurement, contracting and account management practices.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build and sustain long-term relationships.
• Strategic and analytical approach with the ability to manage complex accounts and multiple product types.

Preferred Qualifications
• PharmD with government or institutional pharmacy experience is strongly preferred.
• Pre-existing relationships with VA PBM, DHA Pharmacy Operations, CMOP leadership, or DoD MTF pharmacy teams.
• Experience launching Biosimilar or 505(b)(2) products into the federal space.
• Background in pharmaceutical pricing, government affairs, or health economics/outcomes research (HEOR).
• Familiarity with VA VISN structure, CMOP distribution model, and DoD/TRICARE formulary management.
• Experience with oncology, immunology, or endocrinology therapeutic categories.

Travel

Must be willing to travel to assigned geography which will include daily and some overnight travel up to 75% overnight travel required.
