Your Role...The Director of Lending is responsible for management of the Lending and Collection operations. This role is responsible for implementing department procedures and policies and oversees compliance while maintaining a focus on member service. This position will provide oversight for overall loan management, meet annual strategic growth goals, analyze market trends and recommend product and service improvements. Build and maintain a network of industry contacts, review department policies and procedures to ensure best practices for overall growth and development of the Lending team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Lending team with goal setting and initiatives related to key measurement for loan portfolio management. Prepare and review periodic reporting of the loan portfolio and appropriate ratios to meet established goals including annual budgeting, compliance and risk management. Maintains an understand of products and services along with the industry standard financing to provide sound advice to membership.
- Develop and maintain department procedures and policies to support department growth, productivity and performance goals for the Lending team including mentoring, coaching and developing the team through scheduled performance reviews and development of individual team members.
- Support strategic goals of the Credit Union partnering with the Operations team to support overall sales growth, efficient loan production and continued member-focused services.
- Ensure regulatory compliance of required loan documentation and internal policies with an understanding of underwriting standards.
- Actively work to maintain industry related referral sources to support department growth and achieve established goals. Participate in industry training opportunities, community events and board meetings as requested.
- Guide procedures of credit practices and risk management of collection activities with a focus on effective resolutions of delinquent accounts. Manage vendor relationships with third-party collection assignments and recoveries with outside representatives. Monitor performance and compile periodic reports related to loan portfolio, delinquency trends and key industry metrics.
- Support Audit review requests and support documentation as requested. Maintain compliance with all Federal and State regulations. Support fraud prevention to minimize risk for Credit Union membership.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the department activities.
Qualifications...Our desired candidate will have 5+ years in financial or lending management position, possess interpersonal and communication skills with a mindset for serving and building member relationships. Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop staff with measurable success in production growth. Candidates should possess a strong knowledge of credit risk management, loan documentation and compliance and collection practices. Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship building skills with working knowledge industry products and software applications. Ability to hold NMLS designation.
Associates degree or recognized industry certifications or work experience as equivalent. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Operations Management or related field preferred.
This in an in-office position, available for occasional evening/weekend work and work related travel.
