You will lead earnings releases, scripting, investor targeting, and messaging, while pioneering creative channels (finance influencers, digital investor engagement, webinars, etc.) to build demand and credibility.

Reporting to the CFO, you'll be a strategic partner to leadership, driving transparency, alignment, and execution through our financings, public offerings and beyond.

Excellent writing skills, capital markets experience, and a passion for wellness, entertainment, or consumer brands are essential.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Capital Markets & Reporting / Disclosure
  • Lead the quarterly and annual earnings process: draft press releases, earnings scripts, presentation decks, Q&A, management talking points, and coordinate with finance, accounting, legal, and external auditors.
  • Oversee SEC / regulatory disclosures, ensure compliance with disclosure obligations and best practices (e.g. Form 8-K, 10-Q/10-K, proxy statements, SPAC transition disclosures).
  • Monitor financial results vs. guidance, peer benchmarks, and analyst models; provide feedback to management and suggest adjustments to future guidance or messaging.
  • Manage relationships with sell-side analysts, rating agencies, and research houses.
  • Prepare internal reporting for the board and executive team on market trends, investor sentiment, trading activity, short interest, shareholdings, etc.

Investor Engagement & Targeting
  • Develop and maintain an investor targeting program (institutional, retail, family offices) to broaden and diversify the shareholder base.
  • Execute investor roadshows, virtual investor days, one-on-ones, group calls, and other investor events.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for investor inquiries, feedback, and relationship management.
  • Cultivate relationships with retail community platforms, investment newsletters, fintech / trading apps, and key retail investor influencers.

Narrative, Messaging & Demand Generation
  • Own the investor-facing narrative, value proposition, and positioning story. Continuously refine it to align with evolving business metrics and strategy.
  • Write and coordinate messaging scripts, FAQs, prospectus narratives, investor presentations, IR website content, share-owner FAQs, press release drafts, etc.
  • Explore and lead unconventional demand-generation channels: finance influencers, podcasts, social media activations, webinars, live investor events, digital investor marketing campaigns, crypto / tokenization tie-ins (if applicable / compliant), retail investor education efforts.
  • Coordinate with marketing / communications / brand teams to amplify IR messaging and ensure consistency across channels.

Analytics, Feedback & Market Intelligence
  • Monitor trading, shareholder composition, liquidity metrics, major holders, insider trading, short interest, and other market dynamics.
  • Analyze retail behavior, sentiment indicators, social media / community sentiment, and investor feedback to feed into strategy.
  • Benchmark peer IR programs (especially in sports/gaming) and identify innovative IR practices / channels.
  • Implement measurement and KPIs for IR effectiveness (e.g., targeting success, incremental flows, message resonance, share of voice, analyst revisions, share price support).

Cross-Functional & Advisory
  • Act as an advisor to executive leadership on market expectations, investor perception, and messaging around milestones, new business initiatives, M&A, capital raises, and strategic pivots.
  • Serve as a bridge between finance, legal, marketing, communications, and operations to coordinate consistent external messaging.
  • In times of crisis or negative news events, help lead external communications, Q&A preparation, scenario planning, and investor defense.

Skills & Experience
  • Several years of IR / corporate communications / capital markets experience in a publicly traded environment (ideally through IPO, SPAC or listing process). Startup experience preferred.
  • Deep familiarity with earnings release process, SEC / public disclosure, financial reporting, investor Q&A, and capital markets mechanics.
  • Proven track record of engaging with retail investor audiences (e.g. via apps, communities, social, influencer channels) or a strong understanding of retail equity behavior.
  • Excellent writing skills (press releases, scripts, narrative, Q&A) and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, comfort with financial models, and ability to interpret financials into stories.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and work with legal, accounting, marketing, and external advisors.
