About the Role:

The Director of Human Resources serves as a leader within the Human Resources function and helps the company achieve its objectives by aligning people, organizational, and workforce practices with business needs. The role provides leadership, guidance, and sound Human Resources judgment to support management priorities, strengthen organizational effectiveness, maintain an attractive and productive employee environment that attracts, develops, and retains high performing employees and protects the company's interests and reputation.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • 5+ years of Human Resources leadership experience.
  • Experience leading significant Human Resources initiatives, organizational improvement efforts, or workforce programs.
  • Experience managing Human Resources compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple states.
  • Experience in employee relations, investigations, performance management, manager development, and workforce planning.
  • Strong leadership, communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, build alignment, and drive execution.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience leading significant Human Resources change, modernization, or organizational improvement initiatives.
  • Experience operating effectively in organizations with multiple stakeholders, matrixed reporting relationships, parent-company involvement, or complex governance structures.
  • Experience balancing business objectives, employee needs, and organizational risk considerations.
  • Experience supporting distribution, industrial, or other operationally focused organizations.
  • Demonstrated success improving management capability, organizational effectiveness, employee experience, and workforce programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop Human Resources leadership team. Assess Human Resources capabilities, resources, and organizational needs and recommend improvements that support business objectives. Serve as a trusted advisor to management on workforce, organizational, and employee-related matters. Use workforce metrics and organizational trends to support recommendations and decision-making. Manage the recruitment and selection process to attract high-quality candidates.
  • Lead significant Human Resources initiatives and organizational improvement projects, including handbook and policy modernization, manager development initiatives, workforce processes, employee communications, performance management programs, and other priority projects. Translate approved priorities into actionable plans and drive implementation across the organization. Coordinate stakeholders and remove obstacles to successful execution. Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices.
  • Guide managers through employee-relations matters, investigations, disciplinary actions, and separation decisions to help ensure decisions are fair, well-supported, consistent, and aligned with Company objectives and reputation. Review significant workforce matters and recommendations to help ensure appropriate analysis, documentation, and consideration of employee, business, organizational, and risk implications. Identify emerging workforce concerns, organizational challenges, and management issues and recommend practical solutions before they become larger business issues. Apply an enterprise perspective to workforce decisions and organizational initiatives, balancing management objectives, employee impact, Company reputation, and organizational risk.
  • Develop manager and workforce training initiatives that strengthen organizational capability and support business objectives. Support succession planning, employee development, and workforce planning initiatives. Strengthen organizational capability and management effectiveness across the business.
  • Oversee Human Resources compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws in all states where the Company operates. Keep Human Resources policies and practices current and address compliance concerns to reduce risk.
