Director of Human Resources to lead all aspects of the company's people strategy, talent initiatives, organizational development, and HR operations. This role serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, driving workforce planning, leadership development, employee engagement, safety culture, and business growth initiatives across a multi-location and brands.
The Director of Human Resources will play a critical role in supporting operational excellence, scaling the organization, integrating acquisitions, and ensuring the company attracts, develops, and retains top talent while maintaining compliance and fostering a high-performance culture.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic HR Leadership- Partner with executive leadership to align HR strategy with business objectives and growth plans.
- Provide strategic influence and guidance across all areas of the business.
- Lead workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
- Develop and implement HR programs that support company performance, culture, and employee engagement.
Leadership Partnership & Succession Planning- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders at all levels of the organization.
- Design and implement leadership development and succession planning programs.
- Coach managers and executives on performance management, employee relations, and talent development.
- Identify and develop high-potential employees to strengthen leadership pipelines.
Organizational Development- Lead organizational development initiatives that enhance effectiveness, scalability, and employee experience.
- Assess organizational structure and recommend solutions to support growth and operational efficiency.
- Drive change management efforts related to business transformation and strategic initiatives.
Benefits Strategy & Vendor Management- Develop and oversee the company's benefits strategy, ensuring competitiveness and cost effectiveness.
- Lead broker negotiations and annual benefits renewals.
- Evaluate and manage relationships with benefit providers, HR vendors, consultants, and other third-party partners.
- Monitor benefits utilization and identify opportunities for improvement and cost containment.
Training & Development- Develop and deliver leadership, management, sensitivity, and workplace conduct training programs.
- Promote a culture of accountability, inclusion, professionalism, and continuous learning.
- Ensure managers possess the skills necessary to lead teams effectively in a dynamic construction environment.
Safety & Compliance- Partner with operations and safety leaders to reinforce a strong safety-first culture.
- Integrate safety initiatives into talent management, training, and employee performance programs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support workers' compensation, return-to-work programs, and risk management initiatives.
QualificationsRequired- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including experience in construction, roofing, manufacturing, industrial services, or other field services environment.
- Demonstrated success partnering with executive leadership on strategic business initiatives.
- Experience leading organizational development, talent management, and succession planning programs.
- background in benefits strategy, broker negotiations, and vendor management.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and employee relations.
Preferred- Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification.
- Experience supporting multi-state operations and geographically dispersed workforces.
- Experience leading HR components of mergers and acquisitions.
- Experience in high-growth or acquisitive organizations.
