Full Job Description
The Role

The Director of Growth and Strategy is a physician-level role who will report to the Chief Medical Officer and represent MDCalc externally to clients. This individual will have the opportunity to provide valuable clinical insight cross-functionally to the sales team and partners, and represent the mission and evidence-based goals of our platform.

The responsibilities of this individual include the following, but are not limited to:
  • Equip the life sciences business unit (LSBU) with the clinical guidance and expertise they need to frame medical solutions and product benefits in alignment with clinical best practices throughout the sales process.
  • Deliver focused, up-to-date training to internal teams on specific disease states, products, or clinical guidelines before client meetings or sales calls, ensuring team members are well-versed in the latest medical evidence and terminology.
  • Join select sales pitches and client engagements as the "voice of the physician," fielding complex clinical questions, offering objective scientific insight, and building trust through credible peer-to-peer dialogue, all while staying compliant and non-promotional.
  • Create and maintain educational resources, FAQs, and briefing documents to support the sales cycle, anticipate client questions, and enhance internal confidence in discussing medical topics.
  • relationships with key medical and clinical experts, thought leaders, and opinion makers, and translate their insight into the platform's clinical content.
  • Collaborate with the MDCalc internal content team to identify these areas for opportunity, and to create, update, and curate clinical content, including calculators, guidelines, and other resources. Support teams cross-functionally for prioritization of tools, incorporating life science requests, alongside other content needs.
  • Shape strategic initiatives, projects, and partnerships tied to clinical content development and overall engagement on MDCalc.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and participate in the clinical review of content products, including platform tools, guidelines, podcast, and other products, to ensure accuracy, relevancy, and adherence to best clinical practices.
Your Background
  • MD or DO, with an active and unrestricted medical license.
  • Currently or recently practicing clinically, ideally in active patient care.
  • An avid, genuine user of MDCalc in your own clinical workflow, not just familiar with it.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust quickly across internal teams and external clients.
  • Real public speaking experience and comfort representing clinical expertise in front of an audience or in a high-stakes client conversation.
  • Strong clinical acumen with the ability to synthesize complex topics into easy-to-understand formats.
  • Comfortable operating at the intersection of clinical practice and commercial strategy. This is a hybrid role, and genuine enthusiasm for that hybrid identity matters as much as the clinical credentials.
What MDCalc offers:
  • Ability to make a true difference in medicine: MDCalc is the most broadly used medical reference used by 65% of physicians worldwide.
  • Medical, Dental, & Vision coverage, with option to extend to your dependents
  • Company-sponsored short-term insurance
  • Fully-paid 8 week parental leave, after 6 months of employment
  • Company-sponsored 401k, after 3 months of employment
  • Unlimited vacation for salaried roles - we trust you to take the time you need
  • Tri-annual company offsites to connect, reflect, and plan together
  • Work from home monthly stipend
  • Hybrid work environment with a great team office in Greenwich Village, NYC
  • A culture of fun and motivated team members who believe in a greater mission here at MDCalc
