THE ROLE: Director of Finance

LOCATION: Etihad Park | Queens, NY

THE ROLE

The Director of Finance oversees and manages all aspects of the Finance Department, consistent with Legends Global polices. New York City Football Club (NYCFC), founded in 2013, is an American professional soccer team competing in the Major League Soccer (MLS). The team plays at a brand-new 25,000-capacity soccer-specific stadium at Etihad Park in Willets Points, Queens, NYC.

WHAT YOU'LL DO (KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & OUTCOMES)

• Assists in the development and implementation of facility goals and priorities relating to financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with State and Federal law, and Legends Global policies and procedures.
• Monitors Legends Global compliance with all financial provisions of the management contract and Coordinates preparation of Client or external audit materials and financial reporting; implements recommendations of Client as requested.
• Maintain contact with Legends Global's Risk Management Department as needed. Responsible for coordination of appropriate coverage by filling out applications, etc. and maintaining a relationship with our local broker.
• Reviews all contracts for events prior to billing or preparing settlements. Reviews contracts for General Manager when needed for various items.
• Reviews and/or prepares event settlements.
• Reviews and/or executes all checks and deposits; reviews daily cash receipts and disbursements.
• Monitors and projects daily cash flow; invests excess cash as needed via sweep account, if applicable.
• Reviews all purchasing of capital assets, office supplies and facility supplies by signing purchase requisitions prior to purchase of item.
• Prepares and analyzes financial statements, forecasts, budgets, year-end reports, and cost/revenue projections; reviews financial results with management and recommends actions to achieve business objectives for Legends Global and the client.
• Directs the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems, financial records, ledgers, payroll, inventory, and internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency.
• Directs internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls when necessary.
• Participates in union labor contract administration and maintains effective working relationship with union representatives when asked by General Manager.
• Maintains a professional and collaborative work environment, complies with company policies and procedures, performs other duties as assigned, and is available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

WHAT YOU BRING (QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE)

SKILLS

• Strong working knowledge of general and cost accounting principles.
• High aptitude for numerical analysis and financial reporting
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion.
• Proficiency with accounting software, spreadsheets, and word processing applications.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university
• 5 to 7 years' experience in public accounting and/or financial management at a supervisory level or as department head.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL

• This position is on site based out of Etihad Park in Queens, NY
• You may be required to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $130,000 commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications. This role may also be eligible for [insert bonus/incentive structure, if applicable].
