Job SummaryResponsible for Environmental Services, Linen, & Patient Transport Services in providing a high level of quality on a consistent basis. Must maintain high sanitary standards for all hospital buildings. Responsible for managing workforce of department.
Essential Functions- Oversees and directs the day-to-day operation of the Environmental, Linen, & Patient Transport Services Departments and ensures a clean, orderly, and safe environment, related services to our patients, visitors, and associates.
- Plans, organizes, monitors, and directs associated aspects for respective areas which support department and organizational goals and objectives.
- Monitors QA/QI targets: HCAPHS scores, Inspections, Bed-Tracking Turnaround Time, Systems & Structure of departments where applicable
- Develop, implement and monitor the compliance of policies and procedures related to the operation of each department.
- Audit all relative logs maintained by each department.
- Complete rounds of Hospital, MAB, East Pavilion, and any other affiliates owned or managed by the Hospital.
- Manage inventory and ensure maintenance of beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs all meet regulatory requirements.
- Manage linen inventory and ensure processes are adhered by department employees.
- Coordinate and manage vendor contracts who provide services to the hospital.
- Plan, implement, monitor and evaluate the Performance Improvement program for the environmental services department, and others applicable as assigned by the PI Committee.
- Proactively manage & ensure continuous readiness as it relates to regulatory agencies: TJC, CMS & DOH.
- Understands and determines, explains, and develops dispatcher logic and transporter activities; monitors and supervises dispatcher activity.
- Assists in coordination of Patient Transportation activities and services within hospital departments as appropriate.
- Responsible achieving financial objectives, ensures departments operate within budget, and controls departmental expenses
- Actively participate in Hospital meetings and serve on committees as appropriate.
- Provide on-going education for department by conducting monthly in-service meeting for staff.
- Coach and train qualified, competent departmental employees to provide quality services.
- Conducts employee performance appraisals as required.

Minimum Education/Certifications
Bachelor's Degree in Management or related field required, MS Preferred.
Current NJ driver's license required.
Minimum Work ExperienceA minimum of four years of experience as an environmental services manager at a healthcare facility or in hospitality.
Ability to perform management skills: assess, plan, organize, implement, educate, revise, and document various employee relation aspects, etc. is preferred.
Physical Requirements:Sedentary: lifting up to 10-20 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount frequently.
Knowledge of proper body mechanics is essential.
Occasional forward bending, crouching, knelling, twisting, climbing, reaching forward or overhead and keyboard entry.
Working ConditionsWorks regularly under desirable conditions with little or no disagreeable feature. Job does not have risk of exposure to hazardous conditions and blood borne pathogens.
