Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead all maintenance, engineering, and building operations for The Arcadian. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient performance of all systems while driving team development and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, train, and manage the Engineering team
• Oversee maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and structural systems
• Manage preventive maintenance programs
• Develop and manage budgets; perform cost and ROI analysis
• Oversee capital projects, renovations, and vendor contracts
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
• Communicate with local regulatory agencies as needed
• Interpret construction drawings and building plans
Leadership & Team Development
• Hire, coach, and evaluate team members
• Drive ongoing training and development programs
• Maintain high performance, engagement, and accountability
Qualifications
• 5+ years of engineering experience in hospitality or similar environment
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Experience with building systems and preventive maintenance programs
• Financial acumen (budgeting, cost control, ROI analysis)
• Ability to read technical drawings
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Degree and/or certifications preferred
