Description:The Emergency Department Director effectively leads and is responsible for directing the Emergency Department. Will maintain regulatory requirements, including all local, state, federal, and DNV regulations. Responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating department policies and procedures, nursing procedural manuals and job descriptions. Performs management activities including interviewing, hiring, evaluation and termination of department staff. In cooperation with Administration, other department leaders and others (as needed), shares responsibility for intradepartmental planning, program development, standards of care and integration of services.
Requirements:- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and licensed by the NC Board of Nursing.
- BSN or higher preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of hospital Emergency Department experience and 2 years of leadership experience.
- Knowledge of nursing medical practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to hospital and Emergency Department operation.
- Demonstrates time management skills including prioritization, timely follow up and deadlines.
- Experience with quality performance monitoring, labor management, and scheduling.
- Evidence of preparing and monitoring annual budgets.
- Computer knowledge of Meditech preferred.
Hours:This is a full-time, salaried position. Normally works 8 hours a day, 5 days per week. Additional hours may be required to meet the needs of the patients and/or the department.
