Job Description:

Position has managerial and leadership responsibility for all Major and Minor construction projects within the office of UF Planning, Design, & Construction. This includes oversight of all construction project related activities, project management staff, project delivery, customer relations, vendor relations, and status reporting to the UF administration.

Position is responsible for the daily supervision, assignment, and evaluation of Major Project Managers in UF PD&C. In concert with the Assistant Vice President for UF Planning, Design, & Construction and the Assistant Director of Minor Projects, determines assignment of project workload for both Major and Minor Projects based upon individual Project Manager skillset, knowledge, workload, and project scope.

Provides leadership/oversight in Major and Minor Project Manager training with regards to UF policies, standards, contracts, selections, project management, etc. in concert with the Asst. VP for UF DP&C, and Assistant Director of Minor Projects.

Position participates on select projects by selection committee membership, in the selection of Major Project Architect/Engineer teams, Builder (CM or D/B), and Commissioning Engineer (Cx) on all UF PD&C projects.

Assists in the development and enforcement of the UF Design and Construction Standards which identify the standards that are over and above those required in the Florida State Building Code and preferences that are adopted by the University of Florida for building longevity and standardization of maintenance activities. These standards must be adhered to by all external and internal architects, engineers and contractors.

Position performs responsible, professional, and confidential work with the Director of Capital Programs & Financial Management, and the Assistant Vice President for UF PD&C involving the capital improvement planning and implementation of the University's physical facilities in order to carry out the University's mission through its educational and research requirements.

Florida Class E Driver's License Required.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Work hours and days may vary with assignments and workload. May be on-call during adverse weather conditions and available for evening and weekend meetings and events.

Expected Salary:
$160,000 - $190,000, commensurate with education and experience.

Master's degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and eight years of relevant experience.

Preferred:
License in field is preferred - not required.
