Full Job Description
Lanteris Space is seeking a Director of Mission Architecture who will be responsible for working with business development leads and program managers to develop mission and satellite system solutions that meet intelligence or defense requirements, based out of our Palo Alto CA offices. This role may also be performed remotely within the U.S., with frequent travel to Palo Alto and customer locations. In this role, you will help develop campaign strategy and lead the definition of the systems architecture, mission specifications and working parameters that will flow into the technical baseline for satellite bus, payloads, ground architecture, cybersecurity, command and control.

Responsibilities:
  • Providing overall technical leadership and applying engineering knowledge to large and/or complex programs in the design, development, test and integration of complex, specialized products and/or technologies
  • Developing the technical baseline consistent with win strategy including subcontractor capabilities and technologies
  • Collaborating with Program Managers and proposal / program team members to develop system level requirements and translate those into specific requirements for product development
  • Leading the development of system architecture, technical proposal, and system design documentation
  • Providing technical oversight and review support to development groups during proposal, program design and development
  • Developing mission level test methodologies for verification and validation of system requirements
  • Preparation of supporting documentation beginning with the concept development, proposal writing of the technical volumes, operational concepts, and test methods
  • Working with Program Managers to develop initial program schedules and budgets


Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a TS security clearance
  • BS degree in an engineering field or related field. Master's degree preferred
  • 15 years related experience working in a technical capacity, including experience associated with Intelligence or Defense programs
  • Knowledge and experience in the architecture of satellite constellation including orbit definition, mission conops, satellite systems design, analysis, integration, and verification.
  • Knowledge and experience in the design, analysis, integration and/or test of mission critical hardware
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
  • Experience working with customers, subcontractors and vendors in various levels, technical and business relationship engagements
  • Highly motivated leader with excellent communication skills, initiative, superior problem solving skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and willingness to learn and adapt
  • Experienced with project management practices
  • Deadline oriented with an ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently
  • Capable of working under pressure to meet time critical deadlines

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
• The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $168,000.00 - $280,000.00 annually.
• The base pay for this position within New Jersey is: $168,000.00 - $280,000.00 annually.
• The base pay for this position within Delaware is: $168,000.00 - $280,000.00 annually.
• The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $185,000.00 - $308,000.00 annually.
• The base pay for this position within California is: $194,000.00 - $323,000.00 annually.

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
