Specific Responsibilities Would Include

We are seeking a strategic and entrepreneurial Director of Merchandising to lead product strategy, assortment architecture, and seasonal merchandising for Off-White and Avirex. This role will be responsible for shaping compelling product assortments that balance brand vision, consumer demand, and financial objectives while driving growth across wholesale and retail channels.

 

The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of creative and analytical thinking, with proven experience in assortment planning, product lifecycle management, and cross-functional leadership within a fast-paced apparel environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own seasonal merchandising strategy, assortment architecture, and line planning across Off-White and Avirex, ensuring alignment with brand positioning, consumer trends, and business objectives.
  • Partner closely with Design to build commercially viable assortments that deliver on brand vision while maximizing revenue and profitability.
  • Develop category strategies, pricing architecture, and product mix recommendations using historical performance, market insights, trend analysis, and sell-through data.
  • Lead seasonal line planning processes, identifying growth opportunities, whitespace categories, and key product initiatives to drive business expansion.
  • Collaborate with Sales teams to develop account-specific assortment strategies, support key retail partnerships, and ensure product offerings align with customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Partner with Planning and Finance to establish and achieve seasonal and annual financial targets, including sales, margin, inventory productivity, and buy plans.
  • Drive product lifecycle management from concept through market launch, ensuring timely milestone execution and alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Work closely with Production and Supply Chain partners to optimize inventory flow, streamline development timelines, and improve SKU productivity.
  • Lead style review and approval processes while ensuring product data accuracy within PLM and related systems.
  • Facilitate milestone meetings and seasonal checkpoints, ensuring clear communication, accountability, and execution across Merchandising, Design, Sales, Planning, Production, and Marketing teams.
  • Monitor business performance throughout the season and make data-driven recommendations to react to emerging trends, opportunities, and risks.
Our Best Fit Candidate Would Have
  • 8+ years of merchandising, buying, or product management experience within apparel, fashion, or lifestyle brands, with a proven track record driving category growth and product success.
  • Experience working within a high-growth brand or business, with demonstrated success building processes, establishing merchandising strategies, and adapting to evolving organizational needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of wholesale, DTC, and omnichannel merchandising, including assortment planning, product lifecycle management, pricing strategy, inventory productivity, and go-to-market execution.
  • Deep knowledge of apparel product creation, sourcing, manufacturing, and global supply chain operations, with experience supporting both full-price and off-price distribution channels.
  • Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to influence decisions, navigate ambiguity, and lead cross-functional initiatives across Design, Sales, Planning, Production, and Marketing teams.
  • Highly analytical with the ability to leverage business performance metrics, consumer insights, and market trends to make data-driven merchandising decisions while balancing brand and financial objectives.
  • Proven leadership experience with a track record of building, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong product sensibility and customer-centric thinking, with an eye for emerging trends, assortment opportunities, and commercial product storytelling.
  • Solid understanding of garment construction and apparel development processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills; experience with PLM, SAP, or similar merchandising and product lifecycle management systems preferred.

Salary Range: $120,400 - $150,500

Our job postings include an annual base salary range at the time of employment. The stated base salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on several factors, including the selected candidate's educational and professional experience, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. Base salary is a part of a total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, annual bonus and other Centric Brands sponsored benefit programs.
