Director - Media Strategy & Technology
Media Strategy & Technology

We're looking for a visionary, technically-minded, and strategic leader as we continue to evolve our proprietary technology and elevate the sophisticated media solutions we provide to our clients.

Hybrid Work

We use a hybrid model, where you are able to work from home, the office, or a combination of both for this role. We actively encourage our team to be empowered and autonomous when choosing a work environment conducive to their own individual performance. All employees must be able to travel to a LoKnow office as necessary at their own expense.

Job Description

The Director of Media Strategy & Technology is the primary architect of LoKnow's technical advantage and sophisticated multi-channel media execution. Reporting directly to the President, this critical role is both strategic and operational to the future growth of the organization. The Director leads a high-level advanced strategy and systems team of technology experts and our most senior media specialists. This role is responsible for bridging the gap between complex client business requirements and technical innovation. The Director will oversee the development of our internal tech roadmap, lead troubleshooting and strategy for enterprise-level accounts, and identify automation opportunities to streamline the organization's broader media operations.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Acts as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support Sales and Client Experience teams during high-stakes enterprise pitches and RFP responses, providing technical credibility and innovative strategy.
  • Technical Product Oversight: Manages the Director of Technology to ensure the development of proprietary tools (agentic ad buying, buyer connected tools, agency tools) aligns with media buying needs and client performance goals.
  • Platform Optimization: Oversees the team that sets best practices and standards for use of the platforms in the Knowledge System (DV360, TradeDesk DSP, Amazon DSP, other niche DSP's, CM360, SA360, Meta, TikTok, Reddit, Pinterest, Google Ads, Spotify, Vistar, and others)
  • Complex Account Management: Leads the strategy and architecture for LoKnow's most complex relationships or high-spend campaigns, ensuring the highest standard of execution and ROAS.
  • Systems Automation: Identifies manual bottlenecks within the organization and leads the ideation and development of automation tools and scripts to increase agency-wide efficiency.
  • Advanced Team Mentorship: Directly supervises and develops a team of high impact Media Specialists, fostering a culture of technical mastery and data-driven discovery.
  • Strategic Troubleshooting: Serves as the final point of escalation for complex technical challenges, including but not limited to advanced attribution modeling, API integrations, and tracking issues.
  • Industry Innovation: Stays at the forefront of AdTech trends (privacy regulations, AI, cookie-less landscape) to advise the President and other leaders on long-term systems strategy.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Works closely with the Director of Operations to successfully hand off new tools and processes for wide-scale implementation and change management along with training and support for media buyers.
  • Cross-Company Collaboration: LoKnow is part of the Know Company group of companies. We work closely with Dandelion, IKPN and KnowerTech on new tools and technology with a deep understanding of Know Company offerings and ways to further enhance these offerings for our clients.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications, but for the right candidate, we are willing to create a development plan to help you bridge between your existing and required skills.

  • 5+ years of experience in multi-channel digital media, programmatic buying, or AdTech in North America as well as internationally, with a proven track record of 3+ years in a senior leadership or senior technical strategy role.
