Meet the team:

The Director of Distribution plays a pivotal role in shaping and overseeing North American warehousing and distribution operations. This position is responsible for developing and executing both strategic and tactical initiatives to ensure seamless logistics and supply chain efficiency. Currently, Dexcom operates two internally owned distribution sites in the United States, managing finished goods distribution to customers and raw material distribution to manufacturing locations. In addition, three third-party logistics (3PL) facilities support finished goods distribution across the United States and Canada.

This leader will drive day-to-day operational excellence across all sites, champion continuous improvement efforts, and optimize processes to enhance performance. Furthermore, they will spearhead the design and implementation of future expansion plans, ensuring scalability and efficiency in line with Dexcom's rapid growth. As the company continues to evolve, this role will be instrumental in crafting innovative organizational and systems strategies to support long-term success.

This position reports directly to the Sr. Director of Materials and collaborates closely with Supply Chain and Procurement teams to enhance material flow efficiency and cost-effectiveness-from supplier sourcing to final customer distribution. The ideal candidate will bring a strong track record of driving process improvements, managing rapid growth, elevating customer service standards, and optimizing costs to support the company's operational excellence and scalability.

  • Establishes and drives the vision, strategic direction, and long-term objectives for logistics and warehouse operations, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Continuously refines department activities, policies, and practicesto exceed key performance metrics and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Builds and strengthens partnerships with the Commercial team to support business growth and operational excellence.
  • Analyzes Dexcom's anticipated growth to ensure adequate storage, receiving, and shipping capacities for both current and future demands.
  • Develops and enforces contingency policies and systems to proactively prevent and eliminate business disruptions.
  • Leads initiatives for efficiency improvements and cost reductions, overseeing implementation within areas of responsibility.
  • Manages 3PL providers and collaborates with warehouse leadership to identify trends, introduce new technologies, and optimize overall performance-including enhancing on-time delivery, improving customer satisfaction, reducing costs, compressing lead times, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Supports customs compliance processes, ensuring Dexcom's regulatory needs are met and effectively integrated into operations.
  • Upholds company policies, practices, and safety guidelines, adhering to standards outlined in the Employee Handbook and applicable employment agreements.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned, contributing to operational success and continuous improvement.
