About the Role

Veeam is looking for an experienced, innovative Director of Launch Strategy (Individual Contributor) to evolve our approach to solution and product launch GTM planning and program management. This includes implementing scalable processes, tools, and cross-functional operating rhythms that maximize product launch readiness and awareness.

This is a vital and visible role at Veeam to lead the growth, innovation, and transformation to being the Data & AI Trust company. We are looking for someone who has the right balance of seasoned experience and the hunger to build launch strategy planning and process from scratch to achieve the future capacity to scale.

The role works closely with Product Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Operations, Customer Support, and the Executive team. Success requires strong program management with a marketing background, operational excellence, consensus building, and the ability to coordinate resources and drive alignment across a matrixed organization. Experience leveraging AI and technology for improved efficiency and quality is required.
What You'll Do
  • Design and own a scalable launch operating system (playbook, governance, and standard operating procedures) to improve readiness, speed, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Implement launch intake, prioritization, and ownership models that locks scope, timelines, and Directly Responsible Individuals (DRIs) early to reduce rework and late-stage churn.
  • Define and operationalize launch tiers, readiness gates, and planning milestones with clear entry/exit criteria, required artifacts, and executive decision points.
  • Develop and maintain reusable launch templates (integrated plans, checklists, comms briefs, readiness reviews) that shorten planning cycles and raise quality.
  • Lead stakeholder enablement and operating rhythms, including communications plans, review forums, and a single source of truth for launch status, risks, and decisions.
  • Program-manage end-to-end product and solution launches, owning integrated plans, dependencies, and cross-functional execution across Marketing, Product, Engineering, Sales, Ops, and Support.
  • Deliver crisp, actionable readiness and status reporting; proactively identify risks and tradeoffs, drive mitigations, and escalate early to protect dates and quality.
  • Ensure downstream teams (Sales, Support, Operations, Customer Success) have timely enablement and deliverables to execute launches effectively.
  • Scale launch execution through self-managed launch frameworks and enablement, including training, documentation, and feedback loops that drive adoption.
  • Define and publish launch scorecards and success metrics; run post-launch retrospectives, translate insights into improvements, and leverage AI/technology to increase efficiency and quality.

What You'll Bring
  • Education: BS/BA required; MBA, PMP a plus
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in Marketing Operations, Go-To-Market, Product Marketing Operations, and knowledge of the Cloud and SaaS business model,
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience with indirect management of teams and influencing stakeholders and strong relationship-building skills to collaborate with various stakeholders across the organization.
  • Strategic Critical Thinking: Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to align product launch initiatives with business goals.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas and influence others.
  • Change Management: Experience in creating and leading change initiatives and managing organizational transformations.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills to oversee multiple initiatives and ensure successful implementation.

Core Competencies
  • Thrives in ambiguity and proactively looks for opportunities to streamline and improve processes
  • Highly driven self-starter with excellent communication, organization, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong matrix leadership ability to influence without authority and coordinate people/resources across functions
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives with strong attention to detail and prioritization
  • Operational rigor for documentation discipline, governance mindset, and strong follow-through
  • Comfortable working with executive stakeholders to land clear status reporting, decision framing, and escalation management
