Role Summary

The Director, IT Software Engineering leads the strategic direction, implementation, rollout and enablement of shared technology and platforms at ACI including Cloud. Reporting in to the VP of Information Technology, you will lead a team that builds an industry leading, state of the art technology platform at ACI. You will play an integral leadership role in strategic decision making in partnership with stakeholders across the company to build and deliver on an exciting roadmap that includes enterprise-wide adoption of the next generation of Cloud, ML/AI, API, Agile/DevOps, Quality, and other platforms and tools.

This hybrid position will be based out of our Dallas office.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Provide vision, develop the roadmap, strategy and leadership for the successful execution of all platform engineering initiatives, and our continued transition to a hybrid cloud infrastructure.
  • Own the strategy, architecture, planning and provision of compute, storage, network and core infrastructure for public and private cloud
  • Ensure delivery of on-time team initiatives and develop/track/maintain budget to ensure commitments to other teams, and the firm as a whole
  • Improve the predictability, efficiency, and transparency of platforms for stakeholders
  • Ensure the operational stability, performance, and security of the shared platforms.
  • Ensure clear direction, proactive communication, develop and maintain healthy collaboration between all groups (external and 3rd party vendors) involved with Platform Engineering initiatives to provide a complete, integrated technology platform for the firm
  • Work closely with the software development team focusing on rendering strategy, pipeline infrastructure and internal software deployment process and strategies.
  • Work with Finance to plan, budget and track costs for elastic infrastructure used by shared platforms from cloud service providers.

What You Bring to the Team (Required)

  • A Bachelor's degree preferably in Computer Science or Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years application development and support experience with at least three years in an executive leadership or managerial capacity.
  • Expertise with building technology systems in the Cloud, with APIs & innovative technology platforms
  • Experience building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience using Agile Methodologies.
  • Demonstrate high level of proficiency in the following competency areas: AWS Platform & Services, API/Microservices, Enterprise Applications & Platforms, Agile Methodologies, Accountability (for self and others), Result Orientation, Personal Leadership, Business Adeptness, Client Orientation, Project/Program Management, Teamwork, and Technical Leadership.

Additional Assets (Preferred)

  • Experience working with AWS Cloud native solutions and hybrid cloud solutions

  • Experience leading AI/ML, Data, API, and UI platform development
