Full Job Description

Summary

Guidewire is in a period of transformation and growth. Clear, strategic, and transparent communication is essential to enabling our people to understand where we are going, why it matters, and how they contribute to be part of our transformation.
As Director, Internal & Executive Communications, you will be an advisor, creative leader, and hands-on producer who shapes how our business strategy, priorities, and culture are communicated across the company. You will partner closely with the CEO, President, Chief People Officer, and senior leaders to deliver high-impact executive and enterprise-wide communications that build alignment, trust, and momentum.
This role serves the entire business, and requires someone equally comfortable shaping executive narratives, producing compelling content, and leading high-visibility communication platforms such as our VPMOM Cascade and Guidewire’s CEO Speaker Series.

Job Description

What You’ll Do

Strategic Internal & Executive Communications

  • Serve as a trusted communications advisor to senior leaders, including the CEO, President, and Chief People Officer, shaping messaging that advances company strategy, enterprise priorities, and organizational transformation.

  • Develop and execute integrated internal communication strategies that support business initiatives, change programs, culture efforts, and quarterly operating rhythms.

  • Own communication of Guidewire’s enterprise strategy, including quarterly updates and progress readouts to the broader organization.

  • Proactively identify communication needs, clarify intent with leaders, and translate strategy into narratives that drive understanding and action.

  • Use data, engagement metrics, and feedback loops to measure effectiveness and continuously refine approach.

Executive Communications

  • Lead executive communications for the CEO, President, and Chief People Officer, including all-employee messages, talking points, scripts, presentations, and key internal announcements.

  • Provide editorial guidance and message architecture to ensure clarity, consistency, and tone across executive communications.

  • Prepare leaders for high-stakes moments by simplifying messaging, coaching delivery, and aligning content to desired outcomes.

Content, Creative & Production

  • Create and edit high-quality content across formats: executive messages, intranet features, email messages, Slack announcements, scripts, and live-event materials.

  • Translate complex business, technology, and product topics into accessible, engaging communication for diverse employee audiences.

  • Produce short-form video content, including scripting, storyboarding, editing, and coaching spokespeople.

  • Partner with design, IT, and cross-functional teams to elevate the visual and experiential quality of internal communications and events.

Ownership of the CEO Speaker Series

  • Own the CEO Speaker Series: topic sourcing, guest sourcing, scripting, speaker prep, production, and execution.

  • Translate employee feedback into clear recommendations for the CEO, shaping topics, guest selection, and content emphasis to ensure the series reflects employee interests, business priorities, and evolving organizational needs.

  • Extend impact through multi-modal content such as recaps, highlight reels, short clips, and intranet features, ensuring the series is a flagship employee experience.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Operational Excellence

  • Partner across HR, IT, Operations, and business teams to align communications with organizational priorities.

  • Manage multiple workstreams with strong attention to timelines, quality, and stakeholder expectations.

  • Improve processes and ways of working to increase efficiency, creativity, and consistency.

  • Stay current on internal communications best practices, emerging technologies, and AI-enabled tools.

Who You Are

  • A strategic and creative communications leader with 8–12+ years of experience in internal, executive, or corporate communications.

  • Known for connecting communication to business outcomes and navigating ambiguity with clarity.

  • Equally comfortable advising executives, writing all-company communications, producing video, and building integrated content plans.

  • A proactive problem-solver who anticipates needs and elevates ideas rather than waiting for direction.

  • Hands-on and detail-oriented, with strong editorial judgment and experience coaching senior leaders.

  • Comfortable experimenting with new formats, tools, and AI to improve reach and engagement.

  • A strong culture carrier who models Guidewire values: doing the hard work, helping others, solving tough problems, being yourself, and building with purpose and impact.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000 - $241,000 . Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, education, training, and location among other factors.
